Myself, and the rx7 did go from a second gear roll, motor on motor so to speak,..well, he was on boost but neither of us sprayed our cars. Anyways, second gear, me with a 4700rpm(sweet spot) rolling launch(about 55-62ish mph) he had a passenger, I was by myself.

Third honk, go! I jump out and put him right on the bumper, then he stopped my pull, he gained about two feet on me, so his nose was right about even with the crack of my door...he's an automatic,...but I never lost any ground in between shifts... it pretty mych stayed like that till the top of my fourth gear. We were moving. His passenger told me..."I wasn't expecting that".... since this RX7 walks 9 outta ten cars it comes across. It was a great race for sure, probably my best ever in this car. I'd pretty much call it dead even man. It was one of those races you really wish you had a video camera for. If he would have been by himself, that may have been the deciding factor, since he had an extra 180lbs.

It's cool though,....he says I was the strongest consistent car he's run across, ever. Kinda means something when it comes from someone that does this almost every night. and we're friends so, i'm sure him and I will get a camera and get the cars together again...and get some good racing going.

Oh, and yes, that is the radiator sticking out of the front. I'm telling you, this car is crazy.

 

Honestly man,..here's how it happened....

...I was out,...a white honda pulled up(the one in the video),..he wanted to race A corvette,...I really didn't care to race him.....we talked a little ****,...then we set up the race....a blue GT2(car in video pulls up)....rollcage and all....but other then that, it looked stock.....I asked him if he wanted to race, he said no...he was older, well older then me, he was like 40....he asked if he could chill, I invited him no problem.....the honda wanted to race now, we all leave....me and the honda go at it,...I beat him with out spray BUT THAT CAR WAS REALLY FAST..if he had another gear it might have been ugly........we made a U turn....which is where this video starts....the porsche moves through the crowd, on my bumper....I hit it a couple of times to get him alongside of me(if you listen, you can hear me on and off the throttle trying to even it up)..he would NOT pull alongside of me. I tried...didn't happen.... So I wait for a second in between throttle blips...he finally hit it...then so did I.

I think if you look at the lengths,...you'll see that I could have gave him a two car lead,...and I still would have walked his ***.

We all went back to hang out.....the porsche never arrived. The honda dudes where cool,...they walked up and shook my hand.."nice race".... "likewise fella's.... that lil ****** was fast"

Fun night for sure.

Earlier that night was when me and the RX7 raced....it just soo happened that we left together, in front of the entire pack that night...and once we hit a dry spot, we just started going at it.... and the camera's just never caught up till later.

 

Actually, when I was outta town this past weekend..I di have a camera with me. I have some footage of inside my car....filming with my right hand...driving and shifting with my left. It actually came out pretty damm good..... I was filming my cousins Z06... pretty much powering away from me.

If you remember, my son, it was my old vette that took out the blown cadillac's.... then went up against the bullet. Which was, for my old car, the best racing ever for that car and it's mods at the time,... which you know where moderate compaired to the current car. I think you and I went at it, what, 20-30 times?.... Lol. We had fun man. 180++ side by side racing during the wee hours of the morning. That **** was fun. Again, were both dipshits for not taping that....cause if you remember, I had fat *** vinny riding shot gun in my car. All he was saying the whole time was " GO! GO! GO MOTHER ****** GO!

Good times man.

Soon enough, i'll get the C6 back on the road for you man. I know your going nuts waiting on her but...when she's done... we'll make it faster for sure.

It only looks like that when he's about to take off. I think he was a stunt double for Bumblebee in the new Transformer's movie.

 

No doubt in my mind that the civic would have walked the porsche.
