Just keep it safe out there guys.
Peace.

Just my 2 cents............ Thats the thing with the LS7. Its not just the peak numbers, its that its got the high rev flow to use insano gearing. While most cars are shifting, its still hauling in its low gears. All the torque multiplied by nasty gears for a longer period of time.

Ill have to give you a shout next time Im heading down through Butler, on my way to Indiana. I actually just drove a Z06 tonight, and oh my god, we have nothing on that car. They are just insane, I thought I was near red line once, no way 5700rpm I still had 1300 in the bag left before I had to shift, and so much power. There is something about that 4400 - 5000 rpm range when you hit that it gets even crazier. Sounds like you had some fun. Good run. have fun.

The C6 Z06 is a hard race but it sounded like it was close, I have seen a few races around here where you could barely even see the vette from the dash cam it was so far ahead, such a smack down!!!!!!

Actually, the new Z has to rev just past redline and almost kiss the rev limiter to hit 60 in 1st.
That's why the 0-60 times are so varied; some are done in 2 gears, few are done in 1 gear.
I SWEAR all this talk about the new ZO6 and I'm DYING to smack one on video

No, it does not have to go past redline to hit 60 in first, and it does 63mph in first gear. What the hell would I know, it's not like I drive one everyday!! I would love it if you would smack mine on video!!!

I'll tell you like I tell everybody else: don't assume what you see in my sig is EVERYTHING that my car has:

Too bad you're in Virginia . . . I find it hilarious when someone takes an open statement on the net as a personal jibe from another person on the internet a million miles away
Not to mention the fact that I wasn't talking to you
In short . . . you'd need a power adder to roll with me

This is why EVERY magazine that tests the C6 ZO6 has printed and I quote: " you have to go a shade past the redline in order to reach 60 in first without banging the rev limiter . . . ".
If that is an incorrect statement, so be it. Than most of the publicized literature is WRONG
M3Corvette . . . since you "drive one everyday . . . " how about you list what the tranny/rear gearing ratios are and list the speed in gear at rpm's

Because if Turbo 2.4Liter is correct (which is what I've read in C&D, R&T, and Motor Trend) one would have to rev to 7100 rpm's to achieve 60 mph in 1st.
Again, maybe the literature is wrong . . . it wouldn't be the first time

How about you enlighten us with your wisdom and experience

The difference between myself and you, is I don't brag about everybody I'm going to "spank". Please, no more internet racing! If your car is faster than most..................great! Just don't talk smack unless you are with your buddies trying to have a good time.Don't quote stats about a car you don't own or don't drive. If the mags say it though, it must be true. Make an inquiry(enquiry) to get the real world info from someone who drives one.
I like all sports cars no matter what the make or what it cost. I also give credit where it's due to any car that's faster, and I don't look down on people who can't afford more. What kills me, are people who knock or talk smack about cars they can't afford. I know, you can afford two C6 Z's or any car you wish, but you choose to drive what you're driving. I'm happy for ya!
Why don't you try the approach of sticking to what you know................your car, and saying " I can't wait to run one of those".

Power levels dopnt affect how fast each gear is at redline. The ratios are the same regardless of power.
Looks like I am wrong. I could have sworn the ratios in the Z06 box are more radical than the standard T-56 ratios in C6s and C5s.
