Thank you Actually I wanted to buy the 997TT but it is a big disappointment IMO. So I went back to my original search for a 996TT which is just as good if a tad slower but with better exterior aesthetics IMO

YOU are exactly the kind of Vette owner that gives GOOD Vette owners a bad name. That is ONE HELL OF AN ARROGANT AND POMPOUS STATEMENT YOU MADE. There are many people on this site, which has ~70,000 members , that are "well off."

You think because you bought a ~$70K car you're better than the other guys on here who can't afford it??? GET OVER YOURSELF! Oh . . . and FYI: for those of us that are in a higher tax bracket than you, we don't look at ~$70 as a lot of money to spend on a car

Just because I can afford more than you, I don't look down on you; as you obviously do on others

This is a STREET RACING INTERNET FORUM . . . talking smack is WHAT WE DO

If you don't like it . . . don't read or post here Since you are a and obviously don't offer ANYTHING of significance to the LS1tech site (your post count is 0); you should STFU

I, on the other hand, most likely know more about the LS based motor, F-bodies, GTO'S, Corvettes, and THEIR PCM'S than you do

Have a good day

Nope. Not long at all . . . you provided all the necessary ignorance and pompousity in your posts quite nicely thank you

It's obvious that you lack technical knowledge about the LS-based cars and are spouting non-sense concerning specs about said cars.

One last FYI before I adjourn from the education you so desperately need:
the gears in your car are the EXACT SAME RATIOS AS WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN AN LS1 F-BODY (2.66 1st on a 3:42 rear )

So unless you've changed your stock tire height you might wanna get your speedometer re-calibrated. To reach 63mph in 1st, as YOU have claimed, in a stock C6ZO6, one would need to be traveling at ~72XX rpm's on a 26.6" tire

You sir are a waste of bandwidth and our brain-cells And it is unfortunate that we've strayed so over your ignorance and arrogance

So I offer apologies to the moderators . . . it is just irksome to see an uneducated fool look down upon others he assumes are less fortunate than he

Raced Fadi on a couple different occasions, got killed the first time around, the second time did much better. Still didn't beat him. Also raced one from my area that wasn't as quick as Fadi's car but he still beat me. By less then Fadi beat my by though. Fadi has a monster on his hands and can drive.....I would say that a c5 can win, but will need at least 515 N/A'd rwhp and plenty of traction. To overcome the weight advantage and superior gearing and 7000 rpm power band. Those monsters have power from idle. Damn! I suppose a bolt on C5 with a supercharger making similar power would win as well until the supercharger loses boost from the insane heat developed while racing. Nothing a FMIC can't cure..... Just my 2 cents............

In my experience, I believe that a C5 will need about 460-470rwhp to run heads up with the C6Z06......

Looks like I am wrong. I could have sworn the ratios in the Z06 box are more radical than the standard T-56 ratios in C6s and C5s.

The gears in the C5 Z06 were different than the C5 coups and convertibles. The C6 Z06 has the same ratios that the coups and convertibles do. The only varient would be a C6 coup or convertible with the Z51 performance handling package. Those cars have the more agressive gearing in the transmission ... like the C5 Z06..

Wow thats crazy that you stayed pretty close with him. Today i actually saw one for the first time not parked. The car was blue and just totally sick. We both nailed it and he was totally gone (was in the cobalt) and the car sounded sick. Congrats on having a bad *** car yourself.

Im pretty sure that in the first magazine article I read about the zo6 they were commenting on how you could take it to 63mph in first gear.
