Default Walked an E55 AMG

I was droping the SS off to get the final touches and tune on my nitrous kit. I was on Beltway 8 in Houston heading towards 288. 3 Kid rolled up in a benz that said V8 Compressor on the fender, I knew right away it was an E55, I had been wanting to run one. Anyway, basically we did 70-80 rolls with me in 3rd, I walked him pretty bad both times, 2-3 cars through mid 4th both times. I also ran one of the SRT-8's the otherday, walked him good too. I bet the AMG E55 and SRT-8 would be a good run.l

I thought it would have kept up a little better, he did have a passenger and I was solo, but I don't think it would have mattered in this case. They are rated at 494hp, must be some heavy bitches!

Good kill, I love showing rich bitches that their overpriced foreign crap is slow!

Sat. night when we were out I parked next to a guy in a V12 twinturbo mercedes 4 door, I didnt see the back of it so I have no idea what model it was. I wanted to see if he'd race but he left before we got back to the car. Those cars are heavy pigs though for sure.

not all car makers have the same goal as many american car makers, crappy interior, but fast. etc..

some actually like class, luxury, sporty-ness - compare the interior and all around looks of the E 55 AMG and see how there is so much of a difference and i wouldn't consider the E 55 AMG "overpriced foreign crap" just because it doesn't meet your standards, that is some Grade A Engineering by M-B.

those cars are nearly 4,100LBS.

good kill though, they are pretty fast family sedan's. i know my friends (bubba bfp and another friend of ours in his 06 E 55 AMG) ran and that was a nice match up.

sorry for shitting on your thread a little, it's just that some people think everyone just wants to go fast without some class, just like them.

Very true. This seems to be the main reason why everyone wants to poop on cars like the NSX. Cost really is relative, and you aren't exactly buying the same things when you buy two different cars in two different classes.

The breach in the food chain should only be coming from people who are trying to run their luxury/econo mobiles against a proven powerhouse like the LS1.

car was pretty sweet, and the kid in the passenger was hanging out the window throwing up the "hook em horns" when I exited, lol. I imagine from a dig it would be quicker, not to mention if they pullied it down and tuned it with some opned up exhaust!

A stock E55 AMG can walk a stock LS1 F-body. Those Stock E55 can run low 12's high 11's stock.

I wouldn't talk **** about those AMG cars because we can't afford one.

Default OK My wife has the Benz....

I have the b4c modded ... in a dig I can kill the benz as if it looses traction it drops the torque to stop the spinning ... but on the Highway or from 20 it's a close race to like 110 then the Benzo starts away moving away from chevy, Yes they are very different cars and the difference is amazing but... the benzo does nothing exciting it just like a very fast living room that makes a few pleasing sounds but as far as exciting ... it's hard to get excited unless numbers on the speedo excite you there is no real feeling or rush I enjoy drive my 2002... Her Benz Tachs 3000 @ 75mph and my m6 is @ 1800 ....
I think the kids in the benz don't know you have to push the throttle all the way down and hit the wot BUTTON .....

I could drive either car anytime and I usually pull out the chevy unless there gunna be a lot of stop and go traffic //

At the strip a guy I know had a bone stock one that went 12.8 at 108 mph...My auto C5 at the same track went a best of 13.5 at 103 mph..( yea are track is slow cas of the hawaiian weather and the track going slightly uphill but eighter way you can still see the differance between the auto 04 C5 and auto E55 AMG....

I had to spend $$$ on my mods just to be able to hang with his stock performance and finally edge him out with a 12.80 at 111 mph...

Those cars are bad ***..

Nice kill! I remember I ran one when I had my SS w/few bolt ons and got smoked. Then I ran into the same guy but I had Heads/Cam full bolt ons and a great tune.......guy did a uturn in front of us and we still caught and passed his *** with him getting the jump. They are bad cars but not for a good H/C LS1!
