The GFs 96 A4 2.73 car lost to a Cobalt SS manual from a stoplight (close race) but murdered it from a roll a few seconds later. FWIW

Seems like Cobalt SS S/C's are pretty close matches for auto LT1's, especially ones with 2.73's. The SS S/C's are putting down around 210WHP, which is more than they are rated for at the flywheel.

FWIW, A Cobalt SS has a chance against a 2.73 A4 LT1, the slowest example of an LT1.
Now thats impressive.

Who/what does he race?
maybe stock to stock but a modded balt is another story. you shouldn't be a dick its not like lt1's are the fastest thing ever.

No surprises there.
Im not going to spend the time and effort trying to explain that what I meant had nothing to do with if an LS1/LT1 should put up just as much as a fight in stock form to a SS Cobalt, thats simply not true.

Everytime, the LS1 will eat the SS Cobalt.
Most of the time the LT1 will club it, with crappier runs making for a good race.

There's no hostility here, its simple facts.

Just like stock for stock the LS platform out works the LT platform.

I think being the Underdog is fun.

I have witnesses to the race that post here maybe one will chime in. nothing againt the lil car but I dont thinkit will stand a chance against a lt1 i know the saturn didnt

Just for reference i have $700 in mods to my car and of the 2 lt1's i raced one was a 95 stock auto very well mainted, and the other was a m6 95 camaro with full exhaust and a cai. The auto was just plain bad the m6 put up a better fight but from 50 to 110 i had 2.5 to 3 cars.

So, you raced 2 stock LT1's... an A4 and M6.
If you beat that M6 by 2 cars, that means you run near a mid 13.

So, 20K for the car.... $700 in mods. Low 13.
I have 1/4 of that into my Z28 including buying it.

I do however find it interesting that those little cars run so good. I don't know nothing about them, but I do know they handle boost pretty good.
LT1's handle heads and cams well too
With my bolt ons, a simple $1200 LE1 package will put my A4 to 350+ RWhp, so lets not go into this anymore than we have too.

I raced one with AEM intake, header/downpipe, and a Borla catback exhaust. I'm an A4 with stock 3.23's, CAI, headers, and an open cutout. From a dig it wasn't even close. By the end of 1st I had at least 1-1.5 lengths on him. After 2nd gear, it was quite a bit more than that. We also went from a 25-100 roll and when I shut down I had probably 3 lengths. So yeah, they're decent from a roll, but suck from a dig. Their supercharger sounds pretty sweet though!

I'm sure it would be too. They're pretty sweet little cars. I was suprised at how loud the supercharger on that thing is! It sounded like a mini Cobra

Default cobalt ss...

is it the cobalt SS or CObalt SS S/C?

the S/C probly could beat you they run low 14s and trap 99-100 mph. anything other than a dig would probly be risky for you being pretty much stock performance wise. no offense but you drive an old LT1 and unless it was very well maintained your probly a 14 second ride yourself and mabe even slower in the 1/4 than the S/C cobalt
