Equal drivers I think the GTO should take it, especially if they're both manual. If the GTO was an auto though it would be very close.

Both cars respond well to mods. My GTO has run 12.7 @109 in cool weather and 12.9 @107 in hot with drs. The key to running a good time is in the launch and a looong cool down. Drivers being eual, I would still give the nod to the WS6. But, both being stock and a roll race, hands down, the GTO. I have seen T/As rum low 13s and high 12s, with tires, but the MPH is always lower than the GTO. Bottom line, both cars are nice. The only reason I sold my T/A was because of the week rear and the cost of a nine inch. I have seen bolt on F-bodies break the rears at the track.

Default Goat v WS6

Interesting article by GM High Tech. '05 Goat is no slouch. IRS seems to hurt launches. They made some decent runs in the mid/low 13s at best.

The GTO would drag the ram air every time, especially if the drivers are equal

No drivers are equal -- it's a drivers race. The GTO has 50 extra HP, but 200-300 extra pounds and IRS.

I'm going to say GTO. I recently raced a LS2 GTO with my mods below and I beat him but it was a close race (then again I didn't have traction in 1st and 2nd gear). It would be close, but I think GTO.

This one is too easy....

GTO's run 12.9-13.3

Fbods run 13.1-13.5

You can argue it to death but a manual C5 and manual 05 GTO are nearly identical..The F body..As close as it is in performance..Is 1-2 tenths slower stock vrs stock....

But remember your comparing a base price 20 somthin grand fbody to a base price 30 somthin grand GTO and base price 40 somthing grand c5....

In that case 1-2 tenths is really nonthing if your set on straight line performance...

From what I've seen at the track, I'd have to go with the Fbod. I just don't see many GTOs that can run much better than a mid 13 in the real world. Those things are tough to get moving. I guess if the driver is experienced with launching his GTO he could certainly catch and pass the Fbod FTW, but I say Fbod.
