ok i was coming home from work today and i saw a red civc hatch back with a carbo fiber hood and lil wing. i speed by him. at the next red light i am in front of him. light turns green and i get on it breaking the tires loose and get into the left lane. he pulls up to me and looks over giving me the thumps. i hit the gas and we are fly down the VFW high in lowell. he stayed with me the whole time till the end when i started to pull away. we race 2 times and the same. we pull over to take a look at eachothers cars. he says it got a series 8?!?!(anyone one what that means???) and its all motor... have to say for a import it was fast!!!

 

um only series 8 is know of is the d16y8 = 127hp

 

it was something 8. dont know to much about imports

 

umm possibly a b18 of sorts?

Always nice to see a quick little honda, I would love to know exactly what setup he had, as it sounds like it would be about even with mine.

umm no the guy you asked is a moron then. Supras have 7mgte for MKIII and 2JZ-GTE for MKIV. also the supra is rwd. tough converion considering the engine bay isn't long enough for an inline 6 and that civics are fwd

 

most likely a b18c3.... not a challenge if it isnt HIGHLY modded though.

 

the guy i asked is a moron lol he thinks he knows everything. i dont know anything realy about imports but after he said that i was thinking about what he said, and the supras are real drive so how would u make it into a fwd?!?! i have not seen the kid in the civic sicn the race yet so i have not got to ask him about his motor.

 

You can make any motor into any drive config theoreticaly. Its just that to make a FWD you almost certanly need the engine mounted transverse, and that long I6 aint going to work well in a narrow little civic engine bay. It would be pointless anyway.

I have never heard of a series 8 anything Honda. Probably a B18.

there is a guy that runs around here that has a civic hatch its been guttd out has a full cage and racing seats. his plates say "4BANGER" but he has a **** pill of money its got an after market block ect ect. turbo but anyway he has a video of it on the dyno w/ 5 straps holding the front down and he started spining when the boost kicked in at 5500 and was doing 120 a few of my friends have ridden w/ him and can say that that thing is "bad ***" can spin through all 5 they say. intercooler is so big he cut up his bummper and had to mount it infront of it! lol i cna honestly say thats one honda i wouldnt wanna mess with.....
