I know a guy who bought a new 01' GT in 2001 and went thru 3 transmissions.

a year later he got a 01 Trans Am new.

and just recently in 05' got a 02' SS with really low mileage.

the force is strong.

ha! my frist vechicle was a 97 hardbody nissan truck...like maybe 130hp? thing was a TURD.. couldnt even peel out on dry surfaces..then built a h/c vette and coudnt stop peeling out if i wanted to

Funny thing is mustang drivers in general dont get too cocky around me..some do of course but most give me credit for the SS

It all kinda goes back to the perception that our cars just aren't very fast for some reason. Really, when I look at my catfish, it doesn't look all that fast to me (I guess because it is so big?)...I parked it next to my mom's Chrysler 300M, and my Camaro was damn near as long (if not just as long) as her car.

Fortunately for me, most people (especially young people) equate loud and fast (usually loud = fast), and my car is loud. Most people leave me alone, even though my car really isn't all that modded. I really don't think people will ever know what these cars truly represent performance-wise. I kinda like the element of surprise though...

Yeah, aside from the compliments on the TTM's, everyone says, "Man, it hauls ***, huh?" I tell them "not really". It's true though, its not fast as all, , just a few bolt-ons. Not looking for a whole lot with this car. Gears, longtubes, cam, and a tune and I'll be done, then cosmetic mods to follow, nothing special. Just looking good and sounding good goes a long way.

I'll just buy a 93-97 T/A or Z for the "rediculously fast, oil, gas, and rubber is all I worry about" car that runs single digits.

I went from 91 auto 305 to my 94z with a six speed. Yeah I was like this thing is fast. Ha Ha. But one time I had a guy with a 96/97 V6 mustang with a M5 though he would beat me cause he had a stick WTF.
