Default ws6 vs evo

happen to be driving to a friends house not looking to race just my luck catch a red light with an evo. we started to bullshit with each other all he would tell me is he had 26 psi. light turned green neck to neck from 1-2 got traction in 3 and pulled him by three cars. **** was fun and the best part is i did not use the spray all motor

You still shoulda taken him but you shouldn't be neck and neck goin into 2nd. He had to have meth injection to be running that much boost.

Nice.

I would think at 26 psi it would have made for a closer race. But who knows this guy could have just been a tool.

My buddy has an evo 9 and he runs 26 lbs. of boost at the track, bone stock, with 93 octane. It runs 12.6's

You cant run 26psi on any turbo on pump gas with 93octane, it will knock like crazy and pull timing and youll lose tons of power. Most EVO9s when tuned can get away with 24psi. No stock EVO runs 12.6s either.

The only way to run 26psi is with race gas, a race gas mix, or alcohol/methanol injection. You CAN run it, but the car will be slower than it would be if it were at 24psi.

im with you electric. so many people claim these wild times from EVO's and STIs stock. mid to high 12s. and i never see them run but mid 13s some low 13s

ive witnessed 1-2 12.9s but they had to blast the clutch and gears off the line to do it

Exactly. 99% of EVOs with a competent driver should run 13.0-13.6 depending of the year. 2003-04s being slowest, 2005s then 2006s fastest. Ive seen a couple EVO9 (2006s) hit 12s stock actually at the local track but its certainly not common.

God forbid had you used the spray....because Evo owners will chime in and crucify you for racing an Evo and using spray. The must have some sort or confidence problem.
