Default First kill in over a year! WS6 vs. '04 Terminator

I'm sure I could make this a really drawn out thing, but I'll keep it short and sweet. The Firechicken suffered an untimley demise last Sept. with a case of the "knock".. 14 months and 1 new short block later, it's alive and well. I've gotten to taking it out every weekend now for the past month after working out some minor bugs, but all and all it's running fairly well, not tuned to perfection yet, but not too shabby I guess.

Anyways, I'm out and about running around the Ft. Myers area of SW Fla doing a little datalogging when I was spotted by a fella I'd run into some time before. I ended up hanging around wih him and some freidns since they know the area, and aended up at some Home Depot in the middle of BFE along with a few Mustangs, Civic, rice, the usual. Night was drawing to and end for me but I decided to be bold enough to try out a yellow '04 Cobra that had been hanging around. I couldn't get a straight answer as to it's mods, something along the lines of an intake, exahusta and lower pulley. Long story short (too late!), we ended up trying it out from a 40-roll.

Although we nailed it door to door, I did take a pretty solid lead on the hit getting maybe half a car off the bat, throw 3rd and I keep him hanging around my quarter panel, blower screaming in my ear all the merry way. Toss 4th and it was only maybe 3-4 seconds before he finally let off hanging around 1 car back and that was it. Not too impressive a kill I know, but after over a year of driving a 100hp Civic, I'll take a kill on a scooter for a quick fix

Anyways, more fun to come with a few new toys and a final tune on the horizon.

Its the Code name that Ford gave it while they were in the concept state. "Terminator" supposedly refers to a few things; It was the last of the Fox Chassis, Highest HP Mustang of all time, and the Mustang name outlived the Camaro/Firebird and "terminated" it.

Cool stuff, I've wondered where the name came from too. I just figured that "Terminator" referred to the fact that cobras could easily crush every other car on the road, even zo6's, with just a few simple bolt-on's. I've considered selling my ws6 for a cobra....expect I couldn't live w/o SOM.

Hey now they might have outlived the F-body but year for year in the later years they couldn't terminate them!

In two more years I am going to be looking for a new hot rod car because the wife wont let me turn her SOM TA into a 10 sec DD car, or at least attempt to . I have been considering a Black WS6 or a Cobra. Leaning more towards the Cobra just for the change in style. Neat cars for sure!
