600s are pretty mean streat machines.... a few kids @ my highschool have them, including a 35th (or whatever year it is) anniversary gixxer thats pretty insane, liter bikes are wicked stock and can be made much much faster. I've rode on a 'busa, which is 1300 and it was crazy fast. I wanted off within about 2 min. one of the kids i worked w/ had one and was only 18. Some of the turbo busas with an extended swing arm should not be sold to anyone who hasnt had major expierence riding.

The new street bikes will run 11s without trouble, some 10s. with mods they'll be in 9s

to bad the busa aint the king no more. kawasaki has the quickest production bike now. the busa beat it off the line but the new kawasaki whatever it was passed by him with ease. im not sure what the busa ran but the saki ran in the 10s or 9 something and out trapped the busa fairly easy. was on the speed channel or spike tv one. anyhow i came across a timeslip for one stock.

now even 10s wont be impressive lol

LOL because you're talking about something with less displacement than a soda bottle, not to mention the fact that the bike's aerodynamics become a huge problem as speed increases.

??? maybe the older model R1's. the newer R1s push out 180HP and was the first production Liter bike to achieve the power/weight ratio of 1:1. it's not to be underestimated.

Uhh....a stock 600 with a professional rider runs high 10's. Quite easily, actually. The liter bikes will all run mid 10's+ depending on mods and rider. Biggest problem on those is keeping the front end down. Anywhere underneath 100 mph and you're going to need roughly 1 HP for each cc that bike has (supersport bikes only) to be even close.

I know an 05 R6 will do 127 in the 1/4...top speed, fastest I've gone is 165mph bone stock 05 R6 and it gets there quick. 1/4 mile racing on a bike is all about the launch, 90% of the time, the race is won or lost in the 1st 60ft, the 10% when it isn't, is when your at a huge power disatvantage then they will run ou down at the 1000ft mark.

I recently sold a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 1000 to buy another Camaro. I have been switching back and forth for a few years. Before the Suzuki I had a 1999 900 Ninja, then I sold that to buy a Blue 98 Z M6. There is absoutely NO way that a near stock LS1 or even lightly modified will keep up with an R6, especially if it is a newer one. This year they put down around 130 at the wheels. Also, consider the fact that they weigh under 400 lbs. As far as liter class sportbikes, forget it. My Suzuki would do 98 MPH in first gear. It would do 186 before the limiter cut in. I am 220 lbs and was running 10.20's @144 with a stock GSXR. A stock LS1 could beat a Harley or another cruiser type bike, but FORGET a newer sportbike, even a 600.

There is no way a stock ls1 would keep up with a R6. I don't even think my vette would have kept up with my race prepped R6. We would run 1/8th mile track to practice road racing starts. We could only pull low 7's because the bike would power wheelie the entire length of the track.

Actually newer r1's put out about 153 or so to the rear wheel. And what do you mean 1:1 power /weight ratio. The bike weighs around 440 lbs and puts out approx 150. My math makes that 1 horse / 3 pounds.

Oh, and a new r6 109 hp at the wheel.

Either one will put a hurtin on a stock ls1.

the 07 r1 is expected to put 155hp on the dyno....but they said up top you would probably see another 5hp because of the ram air effect...you cant see that 5hp on the dyno...but i aint going to explain that because it explains itself...at the flywheel they said 178 and another 5hp when the ram air takes effect...just search 07 r1 yamaha and you all can read it....i didnt see the wet weight but i know the dry weight is under 400lbs...the reason i owned a 05 r1...

the 750 might keep up if the rider on the r1 weighs 100lbs more than the other rider or if the r1 dont have a good rider.....but with 2 good riders around the same weight and both new bikes the r1 would come out top every time out on the street....i aint saying gsxr's are slow...im just saying the r1 is faster....than the 750....the 1000gsxr would be a good race...i watched cbr929 outrun a 1000 gxsr from a roll...and both of the bikes had modds...the 05 R1 i owned was stock and it pulled away from the 929...so it aint the bikes being slower...its just how you ride your bike...i think the 929 was a 2000 model or something..and the 1000 gsxr was a 01 or 02.... the thing was i let my buddy race the 929...i couldnt race to good it was when i first got the bike...the R1...the rider makes every difference in the world...
