Question
A4: Get a 7.0L/427ci motor with a very aggressive heads/cam setup. Go higher compression since you don't plan on forced induction. Get some big 1 7/8" LT headers with a true dual system. Get a 4000 stall TC and a built 4L60E from FLT (Level V should do it).
M6: Get a 7.0L/427ci motor with a very aggressive heads/cam setup. Go higher compression since you don't plan on forced induction. Get some big 1 7/8" LT headers with a true dual system. Get a STRONG clutch and a 12 bolt/9 inch rear with 3.90 or bigger gears.
Yeah I know this will all cost a fortune. But you never said what your price limit was, so assuming you don't mind dumping $15-20K either of these setups should kill your competition from a roll, stop, or anything else. But you'll need suspension and tires as well. Very big, very sticky tires.

Or if you're willing to go with spray, just get a basic heads/cam package with a full exhaust and hit it with a 150 shot.

But I agree, a 480 to the wheels is one nasty skittle.
One (red) is (was) the FASTEST street drivin (full weight, etc.) skittle in the US, or it was till he blew the motor. Full custom handmade pieces, big turbo on n2o.
The other (Black) has stock block, 60 trim turbo, methenol inj, open down tube, on n2o he just put down 400 @22psi off the n2o. He has gone up to 30psi on the juice. Don't know what it'll make but that little ****** is fast as all hell, once he catches traction at the top of THIRD! That damned thing runs 12.0-11.5 @ 130's on 26" slicks.
If you ask me a waste of power. But the fact remains they do make it. Oh and NOW WHERE Near 13K in either. Actually less than 3K in the black one.
We race these lil cars all the time, in all seriousness, race him from a dig, there is no way in hell he is going to hook with that much power, even with a full slick.
