Question, 400hp WRX vs new ZO6
#21
Well there is a similar race that might happen here soon. It is just there nearly an hour away from each other and neither will make the drive.
wrx = 340 AWHP on some dynapack dyno ( reads stupid low )
Z06 is stock
If the race happens there will be vid

I hate to bust anyone bubble but I can show you a 356awhp WRX that trapped 122mph in the 1320 (would post a link but NASIOC is having issues right now).
And 400awhp while not common is not exactly impossible to get. GT35r on a WRX with 103oct is an easy 400+awhp car. While the lag would be huge and not really a streetable car it has been done.
11.290@127.73 1.783 7.379@97.68 Turbo WRX - 2002 Douglas Stanley 2006-03-03 Cecil County Dragway
11.2@131 1.904 7.445@104 Turbo WRX - 2000 Jamie Paolucci 2004-04-23 Kwinana Motorplex
Both of these are trapping near a new Z06 in the 1/4.
As for the weight, well they both weigh around the same 3100lbs.
Now does this kid have a 400awhp WRX? I don't know, he could. Will it beat a new Z06? I doubt it but anything can happen on the on the street.

For every 400WHP anything there are are about 5 idiots claiming to. That goes double with a nice affordable turbo platform.
A real honest to goodness 400WHP WRX would put up a good fight under 120. Its light, its has aggressive gears, and traction. But after that its not going to be pretty for him.
And I would bet that he has about 300WHP. He probably has a mild turbo upgrade, most of the bolt-ons, and a bad tune. In other words, slow.

Damn there are alot of nutswingers here, who think the Z06 is invincible. IF you take a look around the multimedia section, there's one getting his *** spanked by an srt-4 on pump gas.
Anything can happen on the street. And for an awd vehicle making in excess of 400rwhp(which is almost 500hp) would most likely destroy 75% of the cars on the street.
And as mentioned in the previous threads, there are people trapping at 120mph through the 1/4. This alone would give a Z06 trouble on the street and a hard time pulling it before any unsafe speeds occurr. Now if they where to race from a roll, then I would say advantage Z06. Since gearing, aerodynamics and hp play more of a roll.

25psi makes a good point, but it seems like the reliability of this 400awhp WRX is also in question. Maybe he meant C6... not Z06??? Seems like a big mistake to us, but then again some people can be pretty uninformed. Camero WS6 ring a bell to anyone?

theres actually a race on the m5board/m6board of the new C6 Z06 vs a ferrari f430 F1...he also raced a bmw m6 and a bmw m5 tuned by kelleners ( camshafts, exhaust, tune ) and the c6 z06 tore them all. reminder all these cars are over 400whp. and these races were taken from 20ish mph to 160mph...it was in kilometers ..but i know they raced to 160mph.

Sorry WRX-Error, but I can turn around and point out that a stock C6Z has gone 10.8x's.
Not to mention, the ****** probably put the l337 lol Sti gearset in just to hold the damn power.
So by the the time the WRX has shifted a bajillion times to reach 60 the Z will just now be shifting into 2nd, and then its alllllllll over from there. Hell if wanna be cool, my truck can totally whoop some serious *** right off the line...
upto 10mph. Yawn, the launch is cool for only so much, after that, the wrx will be long in the rear view.
I could believe against a bonestock C5Z, mine at 50mi. put down 345.

You are saying the exact same ****, I've tried to say here thousands of times. BTW, I used those same examples about a month ago, to illustrate as to why dyno #'s do not matter! The only thing I disagree with you on is the loss of power through the EVO's tranny. If the car makes 600hp, it makes 600hp no matter what. The drivetrain loss is already factored in.
