There's always the possibility that the Evo could be lying about his horsepower in that video. Even with the weight difference, that Evo pulled that Cobra HARD, and the Cobra was claiming quite a bit more power. I would be willing to bet someone's lying about their numbers in that video. I have seen many people with high power cars like that lie so that no one really knows what they are making or so people think they are slower than they are, especially when they are racing for money.

By the way, the cars in those videos are BADASS. Just thought I should add that in so no one thinks I'm putting these cars down.

Not to mention, the ****** probably put the l337 lol Sti gearset in just to hold the damn power.
So by the the time the WRX has shifted a bajillion times to reach 60 the Z will just now be shifting into 2nd, and then its alllllllll over from there. Hell if wanna be cool, my truck can totally whoop some serious *** right off the line...

upto 10mph. Yawn, the launch is cool for only so much, after that, the wrx will be long in the rear view.

I could believe against a bonestock C5Z, mine at 50mi. put down 345.
No the WRX I was referring to was on the stock block and tranny.

BONE STOCK EJ205 (2.0L) and BONE STOCK Tranny

1/4 time.....11.785
1/4 mph......122.64
1/8 time......7.723
1/8 mph......97.30

While the time was less then great and you can see he granny shifted the MPH is what counts. With 350ish awhp he trapped 122mph. Now you mean to tell me that if a 350awhp car trally 122mph that a 400awhp wrx couldn't trap near a Z06?

Now I never said I believe the story. I just stated that is was completely possible for a 400awhp to hang with a C6 Z06. Does it happen often, no but it could.

And as for your yawn on the launch. Well I'm guessing you don't hit the track much. Ask anyone who runs the 1320'. They would rather have a great front 1/8 then a great back 1/8. Every tenth you shave off your 60' is equal to 2 tenths in the 1/4. My car may only trap what a mild modded ls1 does but in a 1/4 run that still puts me 3 cars ahead.

I'm sorry but a 400awhp WRX (I don't care what dyno it was on) is NOT outrunning or "keeping up" with a stock C6 ZO6. That WRX is cracking 120mph at BEST. You need at least 500whp to have a chance. My 2psi.

You are quite correct, I don't do drag track.
It's highway and road tracks for me, where it's fun to see scoobies of like power fall by the wayside. I was originally meaning to steer my post towards higher speeds. Sorry for the confusion, but your quite correct, farthest rocket down the short distance has a great setup.

It's entirely within the realm of possibilities that a 400whp WRX vs a C6Z could have them hang, given varying drivers etc. etc.
Hell, I got pot *** lucky one time stomping a hoopty 5.0 with slicks and skinnies in my stock down to the airfilter STi.

If you research this video a bit more, you'll find out the driver of the vette was in second gear at the start of this race (and for all the races he had that day). He acknowledges the mistake and that he should have been in first gear.

So...the f430 couldn't even manage to pull a carlength on the vette from a 30 mph roll, with the vette starting in 2nd gear...damn. That's impressive.
