I like the GT500, but the car is SLOW even with the bolt-ons! The car has 500 fly wheel out of the box and yet still gets beat by a 400hp vette. To much weight and too slow!

Man that is one sloooooow boosted TA. My car was running those times with bolt-on's. BTW, That guy sounds very proud of his car. but that's OK, Chances are that petty soon he'll come across the right modded F-body or modded C6 Zo6 in his 4000 Lbs bucket!

yea this one is kinda sketchy. i find it hard to believe he pulled like that on the t/a, cuz that was ridiculous. even though in the thread someone said that his buddy was in the t/a. that just makes all the easier to fake. or if wus a straight up street race (unplanned) the guy in the trans am wasn't feelin a race. but i don't trust it.

I think its real, you could kind of see the WS6 squat when they take off and it seems to hold there. But there is no way that its FI. Its probably stock or has very few mods

I would think that a GT500 could easily put 7-10 cars on a 12.2@111 TA from a roll. But if the TA was Procharged and running right, it would be easily an even race from a roll.
my thoughts exactly.

Are you sure? those C5 Zo6's can be very fast stock. I don't know about out running but at least hanging with a stock gt 500 I think is very doable.

Better stop laughing, it's true, stock for stock, the C6 6speed is slightly quicker than the 500, depending on the test .1-.3.

Noway that T/A is boosted, or running anymore than about 4 psi like stated earlier. I mean come on, everyone knows a boosted LS1 with "any" decent amount of boost is going to be a 500+ rwhp car and it weighs less than a GT500. One would be stupid to think a blown LS1 would lose to a light bolt on GT500. Oh yeah the Mustang guy thinks that, lol.

All the sources I seen say the stock GT500 runs ~12.7 in the quarter and that the stock C5 Zo6 runs ~ 12.5 if I remember correctly. I'm shure there is at least one stock Zo6 in the 11's.

Espically when the new ZO6 is rated at 500. Put that up aginst GT500 stock for stock. Guaranteed bus lengths. Probably about 3 of them.

The new z06 is rated at 505...and dynos around 460-470 at the wheels depending on the car/location. A GT500 doesnt make that at the wheels i dont believe. And the aerodynamics are no matchfor the Z06 compared to the GT500.

that, and the fact that the weight diff is pretty dramatic. But the price tag is pretty close after dealer markup.
