Do you know much about the mach spec 3650 or the cobra spec T56? The mach has MUCH better 1st and second gears, and a slightly better 3rd. Pair that with the same 3.55 rear..the mach is better setup for drag racing. Weight, tranny and solid axle are why the machs are only ~.5 slower (on avg) than a terminator which has ~90 more RWHP/TQ.

I don't know about the GM trannys, but all that 6-speed gets you in the Cobra is two overdrive gears, pretty much usless for any serious drag racing. Hell, even with my 5-speed, I very rarely ever use fifth gear, unless I'm driving down the interstate for several hours. So I don't see where your argument holds any water.

Stage 3's are nothing to worry about. They basically put out the power of a stock 03/04 with a good suspension and more weight.
