Killed a Saleen mustang today

Maybe one day I'll get to view the best part of a Saleen, the rear. But until somebody actually drives one of those things, instead of revving and posing, I just have to go with the rear view mirror view I always see...

Where is the extra HP???
I've been in plenty of fast cars before, and I can tell you that this wasn't one of them. Did it look and sound nice? Yes. I actually liked the car, but the fact remains that a 13.2 is still slower than most stock LS1's even though it has the advantage of F/I. It pulled decent up top, but the 281 lacks the grunt down low compared to the LSX's.

My best friends uncle owns a ford dealership that has both the shelby cobra gt500 and the s/c saleen cobra (435 hp, not the 550 hp extreme edition) and I have driven both and they both are definately faster than an f-body, ls1 vette, or gto, but I think that the c5 z06 and c6 are faster as I have driven both vettes and they definately felt faster. Again not ragging on the ford products as both cars are a pulley swap away from being absolute beasts (although I hear the swaps are tough to do on the gt500) but the c5 z06 and c6 both felt faster.

I never said anything bad about the Saleen, I actually said that I liked it for the most part. Who knows, the car we were in could have had issues, but the fact remains that this car would have gotten it's *** handed to it by quite a few stock cars I've driven (LS2 GTO, LS1 F Body, and the WRX STI come to mind first). Now add in a pulley swap and an exhaust and the outcome would be very different.

Really? I thought the saleen felt faster than my bolt on camaro, my uncles 01 ls1 vette, and the two 06 gto's I have driven. Was it def the S/C ed one? It didnt feel WAY faster but I def felt a seat of the pants difference between the other vehicles listed. Def slower though than a c5 z06 or C6.

Not to mention a car and driver 1/4 time is comparable to what a good driver could do on a dusty backroad with a passenger.

We need to beef up this section with more racers. This is getting ridiculous.
