Well they should dyno between 400rwhp-450rwhp, they weight around 3300 pounds dry so they are not very heavy. Assuming it is on some sort of stickey tires and has steep gears (what GT doesnt, lol) I would say it would be a high 11-mid 12 second car depending on driver.

400-425rwhp is about as far as you wanna push a 2V GT on stock internals. The non-forged DOHC 4.6s are good to 450-475rwhp safely, and the new 3V GTs fall somewhere in the middle. Not saying you can't get more out of them, but on a street tune with pump gas, you're not gonna want to run much more unless you can afford a new motor.

This is a typical benchracing question. I go 12.8 without a blower. With a blower my car would be in the low 12's to upper 11's. In that case the camaro would have no chance of beating my 2v without the blower. I have seen procharged (9 psi w/ 3core intercooler) go 12.1-12.3 with everything else stock.....not even a tune. When my 2v was stock, I went 13.8. I have seen a mach 1 go 12.9 STOCK. On paper with equal drivers, the 2v with the vortech should beat you by at a half second in the 1/4. In my OPINION....here goes the bashing and doubts...........A full bolt on 2v is a drivers race for an ls1........ON THE STREET.............PLEASE read my sig.........I own both and can drive very well (my 2v is a "Full bolt on no FI and runs 12.8". That is what a very well driven LS1 runs. Lt1's a little slower. I am not biased to the ford or chevy, both have their advantages and disadvantages. I just think that too many ls or lt driver take the 2v for granted, thats why I like to drive mine. LET THE BASHING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have had the car for 2 years, ill break it down for you. bought it on a thursday, took it to the track on tuesday bone stock 22k miles, went 13.7@101. couple weeks later i had mufflers welded into the stock catback and put an ORX on. the car went 13.50's @102-103 for a couple months. went to the track on a cool night, took the headlight out and it went 13.38@103.8 then 13.35@103.5. put a MAC 75mm TB on it with a C&L plenum. didnt run it for a couple months. dynoed at 245rwhp 280 wtq. went to boot camp, came back put a 75 shot on it went 13.1@109. changed jets to 100 ran again went 13.0@111 only spraying 3rd gear. moved to cali, car sat in indy for 6 months so i had a friend pull off the bottle, tb/plenum.

Well with abuse I have seen stock 99 GT's run 13.80's which is not too far off some of the times magazine for the LS1 F-bodies. On the street it truly is a drivers race but it requires the Stang driver to launch at a high rpm and be dead on the shifts. The Cobra's can and will run 12's with exhaust/CAI and 4.10's or 4.56's. And a S/C 2v car will be just as fast. One trick I used with my 99 Cobra even when it just had a catback was sucker LS1 F-bodies into shifting down too far on a 60 mph roll. They would hear the exhaust and it sounded like I was at some crazy rpm so they would shift way down not realizing that I was really right in the powerband. So they would have to shift right away after the hit and I stayed in 2nd from about 4500 rpm and slammed 3rd at 80 mph and 7,000 rpm. Never lost one that way even to a LS1 WS6 bird. But then again I never raced from a dig which makes the Cobra a wheel hoppin fool!

my 2 cents . i have a gt with full bolt ons, tune, 3:73's , upper and lower controll arms and 125 shot (wasnt on the car last season) . last season i went 12:83 on a pretty tired set of nitto d/r on the motor. so with a decent to good driver a 2v can put up the 1/4 mile times. from a dig i can and have run with/ beat stock/mild modified f bodys but from a 40 roll and above they seems to get me most of the time. in my opinion the vortec gt should get the win. but if you dont race him youll never know. it is the street not a track.
