Check this out....
We look, and see this 4 banger ford probe (I refuse to capitalize the "f word"
) It is black, with big fat white ralley stripes - HILARIOUS looking
Well, Advanced Auto didn't have what we needed, so we went across the street to Walmart. After we came out, and were leaving, lo and behold that same probe was parked just down the row from us, and I just so happened to have my digi cam.
I know it's hard to tell in these pics, but EACH of those tips are approximately 3" in diameter!

So what do you think? Pretty sweet, huh?
Everytime i go buy some oil or waxes from the auto store i always see some cheap run down car with the tackiest **** on there. What is with these people? do they think it looks cool?

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
First gens: 2.2L motors. GT's came with a turbo stock (.15 or .1 trim - too small even for the 2.2L motors, but they spool instantly). The 1989 GT's I know came with 4ws, none before that in the US, don't know about after.
Second gens: 2.0L i4 motor for base, 2.5L KL-DE motor for ls and gt in the US. Many swap in the 2.5L KL-ZE which makes a little more stock.
Limited option (iirc ONLY 1992 for probes, never for the mx6): The 3.0L V6 Vulcan Ford motor. It's an iron-block iirc, almost identical #'s on the dyno and timeslip vs the forged kl motors.
Okay, enough info on 15-second, 16-second, and 17-second cars (mx6 klde 15.3 in the quarter mile, mx6 2.0L 17.19 in the quarter mile, both bone stock).
You can tell it's not a GT b/c of the rear bumper. As for the tips they are pretty stupid and VERY excessive. In '97 (the last year of the probe) there was a GTS option that added stripes similar to the ones above yet not in that color scheme. I admit the V6 isn't terribly slow since the car is so light to begin with but a 15 sec car isn't impressive to anyone on this site
Xtreme - I thought they came with the 3.0 as the base model V6. I stand corrected.
