^^^What he said, but....despite 98-99 having the more aggressive cam the LS6 MANIFOLD made quite a difference..as well as no EGR. I dont believe the LS6 block alone would account for a significant difference.

The times are VERY consistent.....The LS1 are consistently in the mid 13s....the LT1 are in the upper 13 and most in the 14s....stock for stock...same driver, unless a nature disaster occurs during the race, LS1 will always win.....If you are sure your LT1 is a healthy, unmolested specimen, your buddy LS1 had a couple of bad days, some mechanical glitch or he plainly screw it up.....
Track times in 5 days.. we will see how we both do on a track.

Pray for good weather.. Last time we went to the track for test and tune we were side by side about to stage and they called it off because a couple sprinkles started to fall. Sucks

As far as the original post is concerned... I've seen many ls1 cars including vettes only trap 99-101 at the track. These are mostly automatic cars, but so is the origional posters buddy. I had a buddy with a 00 SS come to the track with me and both of us were bone stock. His car went 13.9@100.8 as his best and mine went 14.2@99.5. Barely faster and on the street I would have gotten him on the freeway with him being an auto.
