Theres nothing amazing about skylines. Im in japan right now on deployment. All i see are skylines of every shape and color and model. I always thought they were cool, but I'm sick of them. I think they are ugly as sin. I rode in a r33 and a r32 four door at a drift track, and one of those little corollas. Anyways all the cars here have a maximum of 6 cylinders and have stupid names like "space master" and have hood scoops and everything is turbocharged. I miss the states

I love imports and domestics, Skylines AND Vettes.
Skylines are great performers, as I have a few friends that own R33s and R34s and I have experienced firsthand being tossed around in the passenger seat (on the wrong side of the car-lol) while experiencing some nice lateral g's...however the way the car looks really doesn't do anything for me.
With regards to the ladies, they seem to prefer the sleeker, prettier cars, ie: Vettes, Supras, and anything else that looks like it cost a ton of money, because most broads are gold-diggers anyways, ja know?

Unfortunately, no matter how nice your car is, when you're at a show you can always count on some douchebag in a Skyline to steal your thunder!
People want to idolize a car just becasue it is unavailable in the states, and because Paul Walker is such a cool guy.


The reality is...it's the RB engine that makes the car, and they could have done a lot more to make it more appealing to the eye. Don't get me wrong, there are some examples of GT-Rs from Motorex that are modded and look sick as doo-doo, but for the most part, it's just a fast sedan.

Sorry, you guys are on your own now... The new Z06 is superior to EVERY production car out of Japan, stock vs. stock on a road course... How the **** can the chassis be superior...

The newer GTR's don't even come close to what the old R32 did on a road course...

Sorry whole car vs. whole car = Z06 > ALL GTR's There is ABUNDANT proof of this. Driver skills being equal, the C6Z06 will drive cicles around all the current GTR's.

Ok, this proves your stupidity. You worship a car, but don't even know the engine configuration of the RB26DETT. I've worked with Nissans quite a bit. I've done a couple SR20DET/RB20 swaps in my buddies 240's and such. Nissans suck. I've never seen a car break more than my friends nissans. Hell, even a friend of mine with a 350z had to lemon law it last month. (He bought a '01 SS after that, my suggestion, and he loves it)

Sorry, but Im going to have to disagree with you here! I respect your opinion, but here are some facts, you have to look at:

For one, the GTR, was born to be a track terror. Hince, the reason why it won 10 straight years and was forced to retire from its racing series in Japan, something the Vette has never done! Two, the Vette has the power for sure, thats one of the reasons why it runs extremely fast lap times, but does that mean it handles like its on rails, well, NO! Three, it still runs on leaf springs. I dont know about you, but if I purchase an 80K+ car, I do not want to role around on leaf springs. Four, the RB has one of the most sophisticated 4wd systems and 4ws systems ever produced. Hell, the R32, is more sophisticated than a C6 Vette. The vette has the basics. Something that hasnt been changed in 20+ years.

You really cant compare a car with 150-200 more hp on a track and say it handles better. If that were the case, a GT500 handles better than a lotus, since it runs a faster time at the track! Give me a 500hp skyline vs a stock C6 and I guarentee you, the outcome would be different!

 

In my opinion, it's just a different class of a woman. Look at the girls that are attracted to the skylines, and look at the woman that are attracted to a vette. I couldn't resist.

 

 

You are dead wrong here.
The Corvette has been a track legend and the new C6's are no exception. They have specialized tuned suspensions, and are mainly designed for the track from head to toe.
They match and beat some of the best supercars in the world.

On a track, a Skyline would get owned by a Vette with equal hp.

 

Your a deuchbag its a proven fact. I can assure you that a Ferrari 360 or 430 will attract alot hotter chicks then a ricer will and guess what they have V8's. What way is the skyline nicer?

 

Skyline looks decent....but nowhere near as nice as the C6 ZO6.

As for turning heads, the Skyline will probably turn the head of a 16 year old kid who is into rice; the Vette will turn the heads of 25 year old women.

Unless you are a auto enthusiast, I don't even think the majority of people even know what a Skyline is.

 

Corvette has ONE longitudinally mounted leaf spring, for the rear suspension.

 

I could give a **** what car walked what car. ( let me take a sip from my SkyLine flavored haterade) Skylines look like a bag full of hairy ********, and one will never walk me on the street! That is what counts in my book.

Let's not bring modded cars into because you can make anything fast. You can give a GTR more power and you can give Vette better suspension... Then we're back on square one.

Let's talk stock to stock:

The Vette may focus a bit more on power, and the GTR may focus a bit more on handling... Either way, it's ignorant to say the Vette is not a faster car. It beats the GTR, BY FAR, on a road course. There's no way it can do this JUST ON POWER ALONE.

The total package vs. total package, the Vette is the faster car. Come on dude.

With 900rwhp, I don't think there are too many cars that will run with you. Sounds like a beast. Actually sounds alot like a friend's 396 LT1 with a 350 shot...he runs 9.30s.

 

I'd say that about sums it up. In the U.S it's really only a big deal because it's not sold here. Now, to compare it to a domestic is also unfair to consider what has to be done to a car (safety, environmental, cost...). Otherwise, w/out emmissions standards the vette would be at well over 600HP. As far as looks, most non-car enthusiasts would confuse the skyline with an early 90's maxima.
