I'm glad not everyone thinks Fieros are wastes of time, but then again, if they hate them, more for me!

Burnzilla, that is a very clean GT, hope the swap goes as planned.

Yep Randy, Ignorance. I hope oneday to line up at a stoplight in my 1988 Fiero Formula with an LS7 stuffed in there and blow the doors off of almost any mustang and perhaps one of those rare and extremely collectable Fox body mustangs ooooo
I have a couple of fox body stangs. If you're close enough, gimme a PM when you get that beast done and maybe I can help you fulfill your fantasy. An LS7 fiero should be plenty nasty and very different...hey, it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

Could be a long time, heck I don't even own a Fiero currently, but when I do, I'll let you know, and, more realistically, it will have an LS4 in there, which I hope will be plenty Don't let all the trash talk fool you, I do like the looks of a clean Fox body, they just scream 80s (which is a good thing).

stopsign32v. lol if you think an ls1 a4 is a dog. then you car is a cat rofl. i out ran you when i was stock rofl. and im a heavy Vert. and alot of a4's have run 13.2 to 13.4 range. im sorry but you 05+ stangs indeed after faster than your older brethren. but stock for stock. your still slower. and brag about being a 4.6 all you want. why does my 5.7 get better gas mileage?

Ls1 a4 f-body is no dog my neighbors 02 a-4 Camaro ran 13.20 bone stock ,I know first hand I was the driver.The car had 273 highway gears .I have a Stang also but the truth is the truth.I have said this it seems like a million times, The Ls1 have 2.00 valves bone stockfrom the factory this is why they pull so hard up top. Thats why cam only cars run sub 12.30 1/4's . Aluminum heads from the factory I might add,any one who knows about motors knows that it dosen't take much to make these cars run.All this equals out when you start adding heads and cam on a 302 ford .No big mystery, this is why ls1 guys get so cocky when you try to compare stock for stock.How do you compare Mustangs to Camaros ect with the same bolt on's when the Ls1 comes with aluminum heads from the factory.Not to mention the cubic inch differance.The 302 does'nt get the credit it deserves for being so handycapped valve size and motor size. 4.6's included.But Ford needs to wake up!

They won't race me, so I can't really gauge what they run. Saw a couple at the track, which is noticeably a slow track. They run identical times to LS1 F Bodies, primarily cause they launch a whole lot better. They seem to start running out of gas after the 1/8th mile. I think it would be a driver's race. They 60' extremely well. Even novice driver's pull sick 60' times with them.

+1. There's a guy on one of the boards I'm on with a NICE supercharged S197, that pulled I believe a 1.79 on stock tires . And fwiw kenny, I have aluminum heads too...

i gave a new gt a 2 car jump tonight and raped him real bad. we only went from 20-90 though b/c we ran out of room

Being a dog? mine has taken several Mustang GT's, new and old(er), though, admittedly, Cobra's do much better, and I like them. I just like the Camaro better, as I have been driving them all my driving life. That's not to say Mustangs are slow, as they aren't, they're just not quite as fast as LS1's. They're close enough that I like Mustangs and Camaros. I know a few people with Stangs that like my LS1, and I like their Stangs as well. My 98 Z28 has just a K&N air filter, that's the only mod, and I can take a 05 Mustang GT, barely. I like them, and I love LS1's. I just prefer the "outdated" pushrod V8 over a DOHC, but I like American cars with V8's. I think the people who are really stupid are the ricers with "a non-stock engine" (read, open-element air cleaner and a strut bar) in their civic del sol that will "spank a heavy V8" despite the fact that the V8 is aluminum, or how their civic "ran 150 all day on the interstate."
