I have no shame in saying I did actually cry when I read that part. 10 years ago my girlfriend was raped and killed and I knew exactly what he felt, wish I had his writing ability and was able to write my past the same as him. I can't remember it exactly but there's a quote at the end where he says "You can look back at your past, just don't stare." That really hit me hard, sometimes the simplest and stupidest sayings bring the most clarity.
