k20 vs. ls1

Its a real race at a real track and its freindly, which is cool. So no matter what, run him! ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
But honestly, I bet you edge him out. Yes they can be very fast. But there are so many variables. I bet its a good close race and with your DRs I think you will take him. Peice of advice, if you are racing for ET, not heads up, then run YOUR race. The clock does not start untill you cross that second beam. I beat an Evo in my DSM in terms of a heads up match by about 2 cars in the 1/4. But in terms of ET he beat me. Point is, dont redlight or mess up a launch by getting freaked out on the tree.
The car probably runs high 13s or low 14s on your average track.

What do you think RSX-S run?? Cause the maxima community consistently chews them up and spits them out and most maximas are 14 second cars

02-04 RSX-S is a 14.7-14.9 car with a good driver, and the 05+ cars have hit 14.4, bone stock. On a normal basis, if you can't run 14s in one, you can't drive. I had a buddy with an '02 that had intake, exhaust, race header (no cat), Nology hotwires (ha), and a Hondata tune that ran 13.7 @ 103mph. So put that in a 2200lb Civic hatchback, and you have a mean little machine. And that was just the K20A2... the K20Z1 from the '05+ RSX-S has more power to begin with, and responds better to basic mods.

My buddy had a K20Z1 with K20A cams(similar to putting a LS6 cam into a LS1) and a K-Pro in a gutted 92 civic hatchback and ran a 12.4 on the motor. On a 80 shot he went 11.5, so they are pretty badass motors.

Yessir. Scope try to get more info on his car..Eiher way its a K series with a race header cause theres not many headers offered for the swap, and its running an aftermarket ECU with a tune and some kinda stupid crazy grabbing clutch..thats all a given plus he wouldnt wanna have a, "Friendly" race if there was no was he was either gonna pull you or hang with you really really hard.
Stock A4 cars arent that fast..Get a nice shot in there and a converter then call it more of an even race.

^Yah Slaughter is more than likely right, he will probably be running slicks. When my buddy was running his K20Z1 hatch that I mentioned before, he was on a 25" tall slick, it looked pretty crazy and mean. I need to find the link also, but some guy in So. Cal, just went 11.6 in a K20 CRX with just bolt-ons N/A.

2) The low 14s comment was directed at the person directly above my last post.

Well he lost, twice. Just got home from the local cruise in and ran into him there. He said its a k20a3 with a 5 speed. Under the hood the thing was dirty and a birds nest full of spliced wires. Typical ghetto rigged swap. By the way, by stripped out he means no radio or speakers, everything else is still intact haha. It still sounded like crap and we both decided not to wait.
He takes off with his buddies and mine follow me out. First we race from a roll, going 30. His buddy honks, he takes the jump and I catch up and pass him immediately. I figure he was about 3-4 cars behind when i let off around 110. Second race at a stoplight, I had a little trouble with traction myself off the line but still beat him by a car length or two. Then I went home.
Let's see what his list of excuses is the next time I see him. It was fun
