First race was from around a 30-35 roll I forgot to look at the speedo. Dead even until about 90ish or so and then I pulled about 2 cars till 110.
Next race we finally caught the light I was waiting for. He was brake boosting it and I launched around 2500rpms. I hooked awesome with minimal spin, and pulled an easy 2 cars and ended up around 3 cars and shut down around 85-90.He must of just came from the track since he had a track number on his window. His mods were a boost controller and somthing with is computer i guess and a few other things. I told him I was dead stock. He is most likely very confused right now haha. My mods include headers, ory, lid 3800 stall and a tune. Cant wait till next weekend my car will have a cam finally

Yeah I was just sayin to be a jerk haha He knows I was not stock. Does anybody know what that evo would run with those mods That i actually new, should have asked him what he ran at the track but i didnt have time. He didn't pull over after we ran he just took off.

thats funny because the last evo i raced sounded pretty mean and when we caught the next light he was telling me he was dead stock

I'm guessing High 12s if he knows how to launch it. Good kills. Are you going to put gears in your car as well? Sounds like a perfect setup so far.

 

Yeah my next project is a 12bolt with 3.73 or maybe even 4.10s I have not decided yet.

 

Times always depend on the track. But the ECU thing was probably a re-flash (the factory tune is absolute crap) and with an MBC set to actually hold the boost at 19PSI instead of tapering it off to 16, he is soundly in the low 13s at sea level and possibly 12s.

13.0 flat if it was a 06 they come with a 20g turbo and cams
with a TBE and flash and a boost controller set at 24psi he can run mid 12s
stock the car is making 20psi

Sorry, but no. 06s do not come with a 20G. I am pretty sure they have cams.

They have a turbo running a IIRC 10CM^2 hotside, which is bigger than what the 20Gs in any of their guises come with from Mitsu. The compressor is much much more advanced as well, and most likely the CHRA is totaly different.

They have MIVEC, which is variable timing that allows them to not die-off up top like stock VIIIs do.

For the last time 06's do not come with cams but do come with MIVEC which is similar to VTEC.

06's do come with a 20g with a 10.5 hotside. MIVEC helps a lot with torque and spool up but not much more than what people think. Put some 272 cams in an 8 and it wont fall on its face up top.

 

This local guy's red evo with reflash, 272/272 cams, boost controller, turbo back exhaust, clutch and a reflash ran a 12.9 at Bristol. So that's probably at 12.5-12.7 at other tracks.

 

It's still a 16g, just has a bigger compressor housing.
