Agreed. Most people dont take the car past 500-550RWHP without an engine build...

If you both had 500WHP, you will walk him. You would both have similar power under the curve. He would have more aggresive gearing (most likely) but a few hundred pounds more than a C5. Aero would be a wash. You have the traction advantage from a dig.
I'm also doing something now that may turn out to be a bad move in the end. I'm changing my stock 3.42 rear to a built 4.10. I've heard mixed opinions on the 4.10s running out on highway pulls, but the torque mult. that I will get down low is what I needed. I'm about to start running at least drag radials all the time, so I should be able to put enough car lengths on most cars where I won't have to worry about an awesome top end catching me. I've also heard that the 4.10s pull stronger even in the middle gears, so it should be a good move. I just hope that the 4.10s are not too short and I wind up just adding extra shifts.

We'll see.
