C5 vs C6?

C5 vs C6? I ran 3 different C6s this weekend and none of them pulled more than 1/4 of a car on me through 4 gears. Do I have a faster than average C5 or are the C6s just not that much faster?
The reason I ask is because I really wanted to trade my '04 in for an '05+ but if they are not faster then I dont really see the point.

well in your sig it says you have headers, 4.11's, etc... that would definitely help you keep up! C6's are alil faster stock cause they have about 50 more HP than the C5's, probably weigh alil less too. That being said add the same mods you have to a C6 or find one like that and race it and i bet it'll be a different race!

And the C6 looks SOOO much better.lol
I didnt do the mods to my C5 so sometimes I forget they are there.....I have never been in a bone stock C5. I guess your right though...the mods I have prolly makes up for the extra power of the C6. It doesnt make up for all of it though...3rd gear is pretty nasty in those C6s...thats when they started to pull on me.

Stock for stock the C6 is quite a bit faster than the C5. With the mods you have you should be about even. Drop gears full exhaust, and a CAI on a C6 and you should be able to go high 11s. Thats if your a bad driver like me.lol
If you want a C6 I suggest you go take one for a drive. I'll bet ya a beer that as soon as you start the C6 you wont want to get back in your C5....its just an all around better car. The downside to the C6 is the price, if you have the cash I say go for it.

Obviously stock vs. stock that LS2 will shine. Your mods were enough to make up the power difference. The C6 is not any lighter than a C5 from all the evidence I have seen (my coupe is less than 3200lbs with a full tank). It's certainly more refined than the C5. Looks are subjective. I like the looks of the C5 better myself. The C6 headlights look great, but that lower grill just looks like a toothless grin to me. The more muscular looks of the C6Z I like a lot better.

The camera was in the C5 Z06. Races took place from 45-130. The second set of races was a 240 SX vs. a stock LS1 GTO.

I have raced a C6 Z51 versus both my Z51 frc's,...we always made NEAR identical power,.....and we were always side by side racing. From any speed. Some of my best races back in the day.

The C5 Z and the C6 Z51 make damn near the same rwhp, have the same gearing, and weigh within 50lbs of each other, yet the LS2 makes more torque everywhere, so how is the C5 Z06 faster? If anything it is a drivers race, nothing more.
