I have an EVO w/a 35r, on pump gas with only 22psi I was trapping 118-119 and thats about as little power as I can make, it only goes up from there. He either must have been lying about his turbo or the worlds worst driver to let you pull him like that.
Im pretty sure this was fimed from his buddies car if I am reading corrly. A H/C 150 shot Ls1 will trap over 130 mph and put down 575+rwhp and 600+rwtq so you will need a strong running EVO to hang with that.

If he was trapping 130s then that would make sense to pull on him like that.

I was looking at the trap in his sig where it says Bottlefed & LT1 - 116MPH but in the post it says LS1 so it very well might be two different vehicles.
My bad.

Anyway pretty cool, and I might still go that route.
Not to the thread but I caught the bass on a really small lure when he was less than an inch long a few years ago. The small fish are still alive because the bass was sick at that time.
Again nice kill and tank.

Oh no, prob bud. I had to reread it myself to try and figure it out after seeing his sig too.

An average setup will put down around 500whp to the wheels with a stock bottom end and race gas, usually around low 400's on pump gas. I have a friend with a 35R and a built bottom end putting down around 600whp on C16. I think the record for a 35R in an Evo was 150mph in the 1/4th.

A properly set up 35R EVO will put down 600whp+ and trap over 130mph too. It will not make 600+wtq though but a stroker will easily make 500wtq+. Just to give you an idea, the quickest/fastest 35R EVO went 9.34/152mph last year in full street trim ie. full interior, full exhaust. Most though are in the mid-high 13xmph with proper mods.

Again, I was just filming, I was passenger in my friends H/C n20 ls1... ~630RW

I've killed three EVO's with after market turbos. I think they just take too long to spool or maybe they've all been inexperienced drivers.

That kill sounds right to me. Looked like a 550whp car racing a 420whp GT35R. The race would have been **** if that 35R car was on 30+psi. That turbo is a shame to run at low boost. Youre gonna need all you can get against a H/C 150shot car!

I agree. Who takes a pocket knife to a gunfight? Pretty silly racing a H/C 150 shot car on a low boost/power tune. As I mentioned earlier, turned up on a nicely supported EVO - it would be a damn good race.

LS1 - 1
EVO - 0

LOL @ the pillar gauges on the EVO.

Good kill. Ugly (pun intended) for the EVO.

Nice bass.

I want to see the bass feeding and don't make it a short video. +1 that evo drivers don't know how to drive cuz I just took a brand new one from a dig twice last week!

didn't tell us you had a camera too

My name is James...I was riding shotgun in the EVO, my friend Jordan is the owner, we're both from Vienna, WV and were on our way to Cocoa Beach to buy me a new DD (coincidently an LS1 car)...the EVO is a GT35R car, 1000cc's, AEM, etc etc...stock shortblock...22psi 407whp 380tq on 93 octane pump gas...well over 500 on C16...fast, fun, badddd car.

The camaro had some high dollar trickflow heads, comp cam (I believe), one of the few true 500whp NA stock shortblock 346ci LS1's running around...the only one I've seen personally. Very nice set up.

The race was a quick 3rd gear pull, the evo was on it but once it hit full boost (right around 5k) the clutch slipped and Jordan let off...it's an upgraded clutch, but has been slipping for a few months now...he'll be doing some headwork and of course the clutch sometime this summer, but until then he just limps the car around and does little pulls when someone messes with him.

We just ran into them on the way down, pulled over and talked to them and explained the situation...the guys in the camaro were pretty cool, the owner of the LS1 actually has an EVO too.

I have a 01 Z06 with some bolt ons and a cam (undergoing a forged motor + TTiX right now)...it made about 410whp last year with just the cam...the EVO and I were dead even to about 150. It's no joke.

Any other questions/comments just post up and I'll do my best to answer...Jordan will see this and post up too...all of us will have to meet up again when we come back down in a month or so.

In response to a few of the posts...He can drive, That's the satellite radio on top of the gauge pod, His plate says "PWNEDU"

BTW, I've got a higher quality clip from the evo...you can hear the evo spool and hang for a second or two...then obviously tell the pull stops and the clutch slips and the camaro runs away. I'll post it up once I get home from my vacation. Hope you guys bagged some mustangs on the way home LOL
