Wow this thread sure came back from the dead.

I am at Cgillies86's house and we double checked speed formula using 295 35r 18's at 6600 rpm in 5th gear and it equates to 202.7 mph. Funny thing is that I ran into the cop that stopped me and we had a good laugh about the laser radar reading 203 mph. Thanks for resurrecting this old thread.

The pucker factor kicked in when I realized how fast we had gone, and about 10 minutes later when I got pulled over. LOL. Apparently a cop had seen us and decided to follow in case someone wrecked out. He was cool and said ok boys, take the car home. I ran into this Cop a few days later at the grocery store. We had a good laugh.

For some reason I think that scenario would've been a little different
had I been the one pulled over for breaking the sound barrier. I'm
envisioning a billy club to the head, cuffs, and an uncomfortable ride
to jail followed by a flatbed showing up to impound my car.

Perhaps that badge of yours smoothed things over a bit when you pulled
out your ID?

Be careful out there Doug. I don't want to read a post a year from now
about a high speed accident in a black C5 where they had to peel
the driver off the ground.

away with murder on the streets.

Unit, I never even showed him my ID. He was probably relieved that we were ok and didn't wreck out. He just told me to go home. No ID, No proof of insurance, no nothing. Just got sent home.

yep but military so some of the civilian cops cant stand us, those of which tend to ride the solo bikes (bike cops) and they are out to give us tickets and tend to call my unit. the cops that roll in the unmarked cars out here are cool as **** most ride in mustangs and camaros so they understand.

Wow! That's awesome. I get my nuts busted for romping 2nd gear
up to 50mph usually.. However, I did get pulled over going 140mph on Telegraph.
The cop wasn't happy, but he was a very cool guy. I told him that I just
got some work done to the car and I had to test it out on that Camaro.
He let me go too.

Well Unit, I am glad you didn't get a ticket. It would have been a big one. Telegraph is looking better and better. Can't wait until all the new asphalt is done.

I had an evil grin on my face and said ok lets run downtown and back, and he agreed. Nothing sensational on the way down, a few cars but had the oppurtunity to hit 170 against a c6 vert. This guy had no clue what was about to happen. He honks and hits it, I then hit it and walk by and proceed to put buses on him. He catches up after I coast back down to 70 and he gives me the biggest grin with a thumbs up! I return the gesture.
Now we are turning around and decide to go back to the burbs and for some reason he asks me to drive up I 275 and I do. No action there either. Now the fun is about to start. Two bikes come flying out of nowhere and John says I'll bet you can't catch them. I give chase and I finally bring them back into view after getting up to 180 mph just to catch up. I stay on it as I pass and I believe they were dumb struck to see me passing them at 180 mph and still on the throttle. After getting ahead of them by a good distance I decide to glance down and I see my tach is at 66 almost 6700 rpms in 5th gear and the speedo needle is burried. I have 3.42 rear gears, and I know the factory guages are a bit off but how fast was I really going. The needle was right at 200 mph. All I can say is thank you to God for letting me survive that run, and thank you to LG Motorsports for setting this car up to handle a run like that. I think when they lowered the car they all but eliminated the front end lift issue I was concerned about last year. Car felt even more stable now that its been lowered. BTW after I let off and coasted for a couple of miles the rider of the blue bike got right next to the passenger door and was frantically waving a Thumbs up. I guess he approved. The other guy went flying by ricer style. All in all the most fun I have had in my car this year. I must say I am addicted to speed.
nice kill, where at in michigan, I am in warren, we'll have to get togther and tear up some pavement.
