I am dating this girl who isn't all into the fast car scene. I call her the "governor" since she always keeps my speed down while in the car. I am taking her home when a late '90s Cobra comes out of a parking lot with the tires spinning. The car had some serious body kit going on complete with after market wing and other stuff...defintiely not a stock exterior. Anyway, she is in the car and it is a no go. I hate when that happens. I drop her off and start heading back and come up to a stop light with that exact Cobra sitting there. Damn I usually am never that lucky. Well the light turned green before I come to a complete stop so a drift on by him....keeping it in first gear. He catches right up. I am at about 4000rpms at about 25mph. He nails it. So do I. I hit the rev limiter, hit second.....damn left the traction control on, hit third and had about 3 cars on him by the middle of 3rd. We were not in a great place to race so I shut it down since the point had been made. I slow up and the dude does the turn off behind me. I couldn't believe it. He turned into a gas station. SO I turn around to see what he was packin' and he is already departing the gas staion assuming I am well down the road. Oh well, spanked the boy.

 

Good kill,keep the Vette ditch the chick and find one that dose'nt cramp your style.

 

I'd keep her (the girl), because it sounds like she might care about you. And, if you care about her, you'll pass on the race until she exits the car.

She actually likes the car but the power kinda scares her....she'll dig fingernails into anything if I punch it unexpectedly....yeah I do it on occassion just to watch her freak... . I am a bad boy. She's a good one though. The Cobra was not all that pretty with all of the body kit **** goin' on. Oh well, to each their own.

 

Damn dude.... I only DREAM about getting as many races as you do. It seems like every time I visit this forum, you have a new kill story to tell. I think it's cool. Nobody ever picks races with me, and whenever I try to pick a race with somebody, they always punk out. Anyway, nice kill, and keep 'em comin'.

 

It sounds like you have the "eye" for races not unlike myself, although I haven't been doing much as of late since the motor trouble.

Nick, you just gotta be on the lookout I guess. I do go "prowling" for prey so what you read here is just a product of my hard work . You also must project your "willingness and availability". You have to have courting skills. And also I guess the vette attracts a little bit of attention. I don't post half of my races because some are not worth posting.....like an Escalade the other day. This young guy and his hot young chick pull up next to me at a light with the stereo thumping having a good time and gettin' jiggy with it. The chick looks over and smiles and gives me a thumbs up. So the guy nails it off the line. I hit it and put about 5 cars on him by the time I got to the 45mph speed limit. What I thought was funny is he hung back and wouldn't get back next to me. Anyway, all in fun.

Chris, this was around Eldorado and Hwy3. Car was white with body kit galore....he had some pretty good rubber on it too.....looked possibly like DRs. Car sounded good and ran relatively strongly. So is your motor toast? And what is the plan when it goes? I know we haven't had a chance to race....does it have any left??? I did go by Dixie right after this event above and saw a rack of lights twinkling in the parking lot so I didn't stop.

 

I have seen the car before. It is WAAAAY too much body crap for me, but if he likes it then cool. My motor is on its last leg, the oil pressure is almost non-existent. Not quite sure what I am gonna do as far as rebuilding it. Possibly a 408ci if the money is there, but may have to stick with another 347 with a solid roller and different intake this time.
