If you drive your car like this then you may get away with it until you get a shortblock built. It doesn't matter if you make 500 hp with 8 lbs of boost or 20 lbs of boost you still are making 500 rwhp on the stock bottom end. You still have enough cylinder pressure when the a/f mixture fires and pushes the piston down to make 500 rwhp which is what breaks pistons and rods. A good tune keeps it from detonating and running lean which burns holes in pistons but it don't keep that weak hyper-crap non-forged junk from breaking.

I agree with Casey......and want to re-itterate the point of 'only a few months'.

Brian - no denying mod powerhouse is great. I have run into quite a few guys that have gone there. In fact, ran into someone no too long ago that said mod powerhouse wouldn't want to touch a mod on stock internals over 450RWHP.....but if they customer highly insists what can they do?

Hey ponygt you’re on the mach 1 registry aren't ya. I'm Uloset over there but went with caseyeater here because my buddy's user name is casey98Z. I couldn't resist to come bother him on his own forum at 1st. Now years later I post here more than him and probably know more about the LS style engines too.

Yep....been there for years. Stopped going so much, because I was tired of the inconsistant moderorating.......they can't tell the left hand from the right over there.

whoever told you that about mph not messin with 450+rwhp stock internal motors is full of ****, modular makes there own 3v's called the series one cars that all make 480rwhp on the supercharged versions, tim the owner was tellin me to go ahead and go with the bigger spring if i wanted, that he would conserve the tune enough to make it safe, they dont have the fastest stock internal 2v and 4v for no reason.

Yea some people can do what they want and not get in trouble the rest have to follow the rules. Plus the nice thing about LS1 tech is it is a little more free you can curse, talk about streetracing etc...

WEll, that may be.........but I have been around motors (modulars at late) to know better than to think increased cylinder pressure does not take a toll, regardless of tune.

Sig material - tunes prolong the inevidable...LOL......some people are ok with more than 450 RWHP on a stock 4.6...I wouldn't, but we all have our own opinions.

Interesting, so a 500 rwhp 4000 lbs Mustang beat a 480-500 rwhp (on the spray) 3400-3600lbs Camaro?

Good kill... *shrug*

It has nothing to do with you owning a Mustang, but you are a tool.

A cam only LS1 is usually around 380rwhp, with a 100 shot it should be around 480-500. The OP stated his car is around 500rwhp.

Good kill... *shrug* Means anything can happen on the street. Congrats.

Sure the Camaro could be anywhere in the range of ~360-410... Regardless in a real world scenario usually 10rwhp = ~100lbs of weight. The F-Body weighs 400-600lbs less and should have similar power, thus it should have won, but the OP is probably the better driver; or one of the millions of variables came into play.

It wasn't my scenario, since I did not post the kill, nor the story. So at least buy the OP dinner before swinging from his nuts!

wow, your callin that guy a tool and listen at you. you say if his car makes 380 on motor that hell make 480 on spray, there arent that many nitrous kits that give you 100rwhp, for the most part nitrous shots seemed to relate more to bhp, unless its like a tnt or direct port. and for all i know this guy could have had low bottle pressure, couldent drive, or my car just runs better. and i doubt his car weighed 3400 lbs bn a convertable, and the guy driving wasent small by ne means.
