I was driving home from paying the rent for my garage and decided to bring the car home to meet up with some buddies later. I had my girlfriend with me and there is this spot where late at night I will crack the throttle open across this bridge and see what mph I can hit at a exit right off the end of the bridge. I roll up to the light and see the light changing to red for the cars that come up from the side onto the bridge and I am at a slow roll when I hear that sound, a big fart can. He runs the red light as I am letting the clutch out and I hear him go to wot. He had a good head of steam and got to the end of the bridge pretty quick which is a little over 1/4 mile long I would guess, I hit about 120 at the very beginning of the exit from a dead stop. The bridge was clear of any cars and it was daylight so I mashed the pedal to the floor to see how long it would take me to catch him. I started reeling him in pretty quick and he came up on a car so we both had to slow down. As soon as the car in front of him moved he went wot again and so did I in 4th gear, having to let off until I was past the car that used to be in front of him. He wouldn't move so I switched lanes and we had clear road ahead so I put the pedal to the floor again and blew past him hitting 5th gear. I ran out 5th and hit 6th going around a corner and I see him slow down drastically, I was almost oblivious to the cop in the right lane I was approaching quite fast, good thing for baer 13" brakes up front. I slowed down and dropped it back into 5th to slow down some more and wound up passing the cop doing 70 in a 55 and the amazing thing is he could have nailed me and didn't. I know he saw me hauling *** around the corner and was watching me in his side mirror coming up on him and he looked right in my car as I passed him and continued to watch me until we got to the end of the road where it splits onto another highway. The cop went one way and I went the other and it was back on with the MR2 through a left and right hand corner until my exit. He passed me before my exit because cops sit right before it so I slowed down. He gave me a thumbs up with a big smile on his face and did the hand signal for sirens like you got lucky. I guess the street racing gods were on my side today and I did get lucky.
