Why....er...HOW?
Tonight, I raced a CAMMED 05 GTO with my SS and WON. ???
My car is basically stock, airbox, bellows, LS7 clutch combo, poly trans and torque arm mounts, JetHot longtubes and TSP y-pipe into a temporary bullet muffler, hardened pushrods, WS6store short shifter on stock Hurst mech. Car does have nitrous, but wasn't used during this race.
The GTO made 382 hp two weeks ago on the dyno...not sure of the cam specs, but his car is an M6 with decent tires and a really good driver behind the wheel.
First race was from 30 mph. I was sitting in first gear, and I assume the GTO was as well. I immediately jumped a half car on him when we started...and kept the length through second gear, pulled a little (about a car) on him in third. We shut down early at 90.
Second race was from 25 mph. Same thing, I immediately pulled a half car and kept it. By 90 he was a car behind.
How the hell did I pull on a CAMMED GTO? I know they are heavier and have IRS, but he was alone and I had a passenger. My car made 330 hp and 343 ftlbs before the longtubes, on a dynojet on a 78 degree day.

Thats really far from stock IMO

For us "fbody owners" that is basically stock. Now for somone owning an import with a mod list that long, it would be far from stock.
couldnt resist
The LS2 goats are the ones that are of comparable speed from the factory.

A stock LS2 through an M6 should be good for about 350 or so to the wheels. The full exhaust and all should get him to about 370 easy. Even a 224 or something should be good for over 380. I guess it really is setup for the gas. It seems odd that it would be focused on that to the point that its not gettign too much from the cam. I wonder what kind of dyno and I wonder what the air is like in SC. The OP numbers sound pretty normal ( a bit on the high side) for that kind of mod list.
Whatever, Nice kill for sure! Methinks you won by having better vehicle prep, and that's a victory well earned IMHO.
Lid and Catback for an LS1 is pushing 'basically stock'.
I think the fact that you also have Longtubes, pushrods and suspension mods make you what we like to call 'modded'.
Good runs though.
Your friend needs to get a better tuner or something. You really dont need to lose that much power for a nitrous tune.
