Default 2007 mustang

just on my way to work doing about 35ish and a nice looking 07 mustang parallels me, i notice him there a few seconds so i gave him a quick rev and he gave one back, as much money as he had into the body and exterior i figured he would have something decent under the hood, i waited for him to jump and when i heard him floor it i waited about a second and slammed it, was so disappointed with how slow it was, flew by it almost instantly hit about 100 when we hit traffic.. he wouldnt pull up next to me after that, stopped about a car length early so i couldnt say anything, wanted to slap him for throwing his money into all show no go! AND making it practically look like some import ridin low with a spoiler and body kit etc etc.. lol, whatever people like different things i guess..

Couldve been a V6.
Or a GT.......I walked one pretty good from a light(1.5 cars all the way to 100)the other day.I need some 3.73s

yeah im running 3.73s, id have rather been from a dig almost being i got new tires last week =D, and yeah i guess it was a V6, how much HP are the V6s and V8s puttin out? My camaro is somewhere around low 500s and mid to high 4s in torque, i have an old dyno sheet laying around somewhere but where is a good question

Well if your car has 500 HP you better have walked all over a V8 mustang!!!!

I wont try to be Mr know-it-all,so ill make it simple.
A new S197 mustang gt will go 13.5-13.8 on average.Its good off the line, but the HP just doesnt hold-up stock.A poorly driven LS1 can and will lose to a well driven GT.Stock for stock that is.
V6s are irrelevant.

No way!! I dont want the Supra brigade and the Buicks....and the guy with the TT v6 firebird,kickin my door down.
But the OPs car makes a V6 S197 obsolete with 500hp.Hell my car would be too.



For a couple crazy posters,I do know that Supras are inline blocks.

I just drove an 07 GT yesterday at a stealership, I was unimpressed to put it mildly. I think the grand prix that had 130k miles on it that drove me there had more acceleration. Not to mention the cheesy interior, I thought GM was bad at interior quality. I really wanted to give it a chance too because I think its a nice looking car and sounds pretty mean.

You really don't have to be too trained to know the difference between 6 and 8 cyl stangs.
1st from the front, the GT's have different headlights (i've seen wayyy too many from the front, haha).
The rear has dual exhaust, and there should be holes cut for the exhaust as well.
If all else fails, LISTEN for the sound of them.
They do sound great with exhaust.

LOL! A GTP Faster then a new Mustang? I'd like to have some of the stuff you're smoking.

The Mustangs interior is 100000x better then whats in my Camaro. The interior in my Camaro is a ******* joke.

I hear ya. My '00 Z28 had a **** interior too. However, the seating
position was pretty damned comfortable IMO. The '05+ 'stang
interiors aren't too shabby considering that they are only $25K or
so. That's cheaper than fbodies were for the most part 7+ years ago.
I know I paid $23K for my Camaro.

I wouldnt expect a GT to hang with a 500hp ls1 without being heavily modded(supercharger/turbo).

If you think its hard for a GTP to be faster than a mustang, go do some homework and come back. But the interior was plastic hell. Latches were crummy, everything I touched either bent or felt really weak, wierd dark colored plastic with cheesy fake chrome vents. Maybe its only the convertible thats like that? And the car was slow. Any mustang guys want to pitch in here? Does it cut power when its low on gas? It was almost empty. Or is it limited with the top down?

EDIT: they wanted 39k for this one, I dont think it was a special model though.

Well my friend ran a 13.7 @ 103 having the car for 2 weeks... and it was his first stick car.... he SUCKED at drivng too. Im sure I could of gotten down to a solid 13.5 which is not bad at all. Let me see a stock GTP doing that... nah I dont think so. I was spanking GTP's in my stock 96 Mustang GT... now thats a slow car.

Ever heard of aram? He has a 9 sec LS1 RX7... well he had a modded GTP and now matter what he did to it... it ran 14's

but yes ive seen some fast GTP in videos, just not in person.
