Default Cant even take it like a man....

So this kid has a decent looking SRT 4 with the typical blowoff valve that sounds like my *** after a night of tacobell and drinking... All black clean looking car... Except the coffee can and 18s. Anyway, I pull up to a light, he happens to be a car back in the next lane. I usually have to win the "race" and be out in front, and no sooner do I put a car between me and old blue hair in the caddy, than this SRT 4 attempts the ricer flyby, whipping behind me full throttle, and then back in front of granny, I just drop the ole a4 into first and lay into the throttle. Between the wheel spin on my Eagle F1s, I found a lick of traction, brought the rpms up to about 6400 shifted to 2nd and stayed side by side with him. Now he is flogging his car for all its worth, and I am just keeping him at bay, fender racing thru 2nd and into third... Oh ****, turns coming up.. Lay of the gas, and once he is by me he starts flashing his hazards like he got me, as I turn into my quiet little suburban hood... ****** ricers.... Cant even take it like the man child he was... I bet somewhere on www.ricersrule.com he is making this very same post calling it a win... Oh well back to the

nice kill! There are some ricers that deserve respect. Like twin turbo'd Supras and REAL fast cars. But for the average 4banger with cannon haning out of the back they deserve to be destroyed. Most of them are cocky young kids with a part time job living at home. Not that there is anything wrong with that (hell if I could i would be living at home) but I would have one hell of a fast car in the garage. And a ton of money in the bank for MODS!

Geez, I hope I'm not reading that you're MANUALLY shifting your A4? And at 6400 with stock springs? I hope you got more than you're saying, like dual springs and a built tranny?

Anyways, nice that you beat up on him.

I AGREE with the quote. WHY in the world would u shift A4 . The car shift better by it's self. Your going to brake something.

Coffee can? Was it just a single exhaust? If so, it wasn't a skittle-4. They have dual exhausts...

The dual exhaust is just for looks, most that upgrade to a turbo-back end up with a single outlet, cheaper and probably flows better.

Sorry for the confusion, I ment 5400... Fat fingered the keyboard. DOAH!

Anyway, It had a single coffee can.. Dont know why, always liked how it looked with the two tails on it. Reason for shifting my A4, is at about 35 when I mash on it, without going fully to the floor, sometimes it will downshift, and sometimes it wont, so without shifting, there was a chance that I would have tried to take off in 3rd, and the outcome of this story would be quite different. Damn I cant wait till winter and modding time.

the srt 4's have the rear molded for the dual exhaust like the 05+ GTO, pointless IMO to go to single exhaust.

why would you manually shift your auto?? As if when you go WOT, its not gonna downshift by itself???

This does happen, think it has something to do with the temp of the trans.

Read my last post... I have been made to look like a fool at around a 35 roll because it wouldnt drop down enough. So until I get my tranny work done, at a roll, this is what I prefer.

Pointless yes, but for some reason, I guess thats what he wanted. Its like my car, its molded for dual exhaust, but I have seen people run single on these too...

A4s are faster if you drop them into gear before going WOT, because our cars take some time to downshift. I can say this with confidence. However, pulling it up to 2 at 5400 rpms doesnt make it shift at 5400 rpms, it should still shift at 5900 which I believe is the stock 1-2 shift point.

Thanks for the info... Car is still pretty new to me... I am used to a manual valve body TH400. All I know is that I am still afraid of over revving... It worked for me tho, and I am still happy that I didnt get eaten by a skittle as they are being called... IDK.
