theres this local kid thats only 17 that has a evo MR....hes cocky as **** and has this thing with hating domestics....we setup a race to run lastnight because some locals thought maybe I could shut him down....

He doesnt tell anyone whats done to his car...he only says a boost controller and full exhaust...but I got the inside from his best friend last night that he not only has full exhaust and a boost controller, hes pushing 24psi on the stock turbo and has a Cam setup....the car is fast

he wanted to go from a 25 roll which, isnt exactly the sweet spot on my car...30 roll is more like it...well this kid is famous for doing the 3 beep thing, but always jumping the gun on the 2nd beep...so we line up, he does 2 beeps and I nail it on the 2nd and what do you know, so does he...were even then he slowly starts creeping away right when I had to lift off the throttle (my transmission is shot and it wont shift unless I let off the gas, then I gotta hammer it again)...I had to do this twice...we only took it up to about 100 when he had 2 cars on me....

next, we did a 60 roll....same thing...pulled about 2-1/2 by 100. He also pulled my buddys SRT-10 that ran a 13.1 by 2-1/2 from a 60 punch....the Evo Got Smoked By his C6 Z06....Time to get those larger injectors in, a new tranny and torque converter with a shift kit and boost it to 15 psi...that should be more then enough to walk the evo.

I'm suprised he beat you. You've got a RWD platform, bigger turbo and bigger engine. Fix your problems and go waste him.

 

I agree. That T-70 will love a bit more boost. With your displacement I bet its going to be very very efficient at a bit higher pressure ratio. And that tranny thing is killing you.

 

Sounds like your 4L60 has joined the ice capades just like mine. Full throttle driving for you must be sliptastic. No matter. The fact that you could run with an evo at all in this condition is still impressive. You should be proud.

Now, get rid of/Rebuild that trans, turn up the boost and show-em how its done!

 

Not really, if it is a IX with a tune and those mods at 24psi he should be running low 12's or high 11's. Those mods can put down over 330whp on the new Evo's. If it was an VIII it should have been closer. Maybe he had more mods he wasnt letting on to.

no...on the 30th im getting a few dyno pulls done just to see where im at....

this race happened with my whole car in daily driving form...which means I have my full built in stereo etc and i had a passanger...evo's are lighter to begin with...

He had his tuned and dynoed and it made 340whp....they weigh i think like 3-400lbs lighter then me correct?? plus my 200lb worth of stereo ****.

I dunno it would be interesting to see what will happen when I get my new tranny,3500 stall,shift kit and 65lb injectors on 15psi.

The Evo is probably about 3-400lbs lighter including your stereo kit, but when you include your turbo kit and all the extra piping, it may be more.

With a better tranny and more boost, you shouldn't have any problem putting a hurting on him.

 

well i took out my stereo system lastnight....problem is that was weight over my rear axles and now the tires spin alot easier.

yes i have a rear end out of a 99 ws6 with 3.42's...i think if i had 3.23's or 3.08's with the turbo i could have beat him as my car sits right now.

 

I realize you know what youre talking about, but realize that you're comparing an AWD Evo (2.0L with E16g) against a 3.8L T70 RWD Camaro.
