So I'm on my way to a car meet by myself when a Mustang GT, Mach 1, and 03/04 Cobra fly by me. They all slow down and the GT keeps revving at me with his weak-*** raspy mufflers. Not even worth it... They go on in front of me and wind up going to the meet I am.

I get there. Park. Talk with some buddies and try to get something lined up. Well, wouldn't you know the Mach 1 wants to run. We agree on a road and all that jazz. The Mach 1 had bolt-ons, suspension, and possibly a tune. Well he wants to go from a 20 punch on a major freeway... WTF? I ask for a 40 so it's good for us both. "No... Dig or 20!" he tells me. Wtf x2? Dig on a gaddamn freeway? He says "oh, it's not too busy at this time." Wow... I ask for a 30. Still no dice. I say **** it then I'm just gonna spin too bad (stock 16s.) He says, "How about a 20 then a 40?" I knew I was gonna reel him in anyways from the 20 even though I WILL spin. Why would you want to do a 40 after you get smoked from your requested roll? I play by his rules and we head out.

We go out to the road and line them up at 20 MPH. He honked them off like his life depended on it. 123GO! No pause, just 123GO!. He jumps out, of course, but only by about a half car. I feather the gas through first. I slam second, spin, pedal it, and finally get traction. Put a car on him by the top of 2nd and another two or so by the top of 3rd. Cocky kid... Then, out of nowhere, the unmistakable RICER FLY-BY.

This guy gets his roll speed, his area, and the hit. And loses...

Another non-believer gets the smack down.

Check my last thread in the tx section, I have been busy paying my lawyer. I am waiting for more mach1s to respond, it seems like they are all scare. BTW me and you need to run, I took down 2 cammed ls1s that both run 12s and trap 115-116 so I really want to run some bolt-on cars. I really need to run David(Tx_ss) again too, I think Ill get him, my car is worlds faster since we ran last.

 

we can go this weekend while I'm still stock and then in a couple of weeks when I have the stall and long tubes?

Speaking of which..I would be a tad humble on the bolded above. Machs love third gear as well. I had afew runs on the highway with an SLP optioned Z..we were nose to nose (my EX's Mach).....
and that was starting in third gear.

 

what exactly do you drive? and where are you located?

Mach 1s do not have that much less top end than us, thanks to their 4 valve motor.

Oh and I believe him and the rest of us all exited the freeway REAL fast because there was a damn cop behind us with his lights on...

 

Aren't the Mach 1's 2-valve with a blower? I thought that was their main differentiator between them and a Cobra...

The mach1 is quick from a dig because of gearing, but from a roll M6 LS1's should always win with close to equal mods unless the mods are favoring big time for the mach1.
