another AMG
I dont consider this a kill....that dude beat me bad from the punch. The only place you can ever get up to those speeds without getting any traffic is in the deserts of arizona. haha
The AMG was a 2 door sporty car not a big 4 door. Any idea what model it might have been? That damn thing was quick.
Oddly enough the SL 65 has 604hp, 738ft-lbs V12 bi-turbo 0-60 in 4sec flat.......speed governed at 155mph.
The CLK on the other hand 500/470......speed governed at 186mph.....go figure
Not likely a SL 65, a stock base C6 would have a really hard time catching and passing one at speed......that is until you hit 155mph. It's more of a race for a Z06.

Just a quick search through the interweb produced some interesting results:
SL 65 AMG Trap average 120-123
C6 Z06 Trap average 122-124 (note: on street tires, not drag radials....average, yes I know some driver's have gone faster.....but this is average driver times.)
The Z06 averages about a half a second faster in the 1/4 with 11.5 (yes, I know leg humpers, there are faster times than that.....the keyword here is AVERAGE) compared to the SL 65 AMG's 11.9. Mind you I didn't include guys with 60ft times faster than 1.8 (like the two guys I found claiming 1.6 60fts on "street tires"......when the video for one stated that he was running drag radials.....1.6 short time on street tires? I was born at night, but not last night.)
After seeing my results, I pretty much can conclude that outside of a 1/4 mile race (which the Z06 would absolutely slaughter a SL 65), a highway run should be a pretty close race with the win going to the Z06 with a good driver.

I did a few searches and I believe it was the SL 65. He pulled on me pretty damn hard but once he hit around 155 thats when I started to pull him in. I'm guessing it was because he was governed.
Whatever the model, good run - win or lose it's always fun to stretch the legs a little when opportunity knocks!

Somebody prove me wrong. Only the Mercedes flagship SLR Mclaren is messing with the LS7. Less not even get into handling, braking, etc....
Not trying to bust your ***** but I think the race ended at 150 and you lost ....
Sorry just my honest opinion. Seems funny how the race kept going and ends just as you get 3 feet ahead of the Benz. If I am wrong so be it, I wasn't there, just going off what you typed bro. Good race with the Benz. Those high dollar AMG's will surprise ya.
I haven't had a chance to run one yet, but I am sure it would be interesting until we got into the higher speeds.
