Default 1st LS3 races

I got to run a LS3 Vette last weekend for the 1st time. A friend of mine works at a dealership and they let him take one over the weekend.

Anyways...they are noticeably faster than the LS2 around 2500 RPMs but other than that I couldn’t feel much difference. Track times don’t lie though...they are running about .25 faster than the LS2.

I'm running full exhaust, CAI, and a tune on my LS2. We ran about 5 different races and each one was the same. I would pull about ½ a car through 1st and 2nd and when we would go into 3rd I would slowly walk away. It was a very close race…I expected to give him a pretty good whoopin but it didn’t happen. I think the LS3 with full bolt-ons will give the C6Z a pretty good run...it prolly won’t win but it will be close.

Actually I might be able to film it if he has it again next weekend. I'll give him a call tomorrow to see if we can hook that up

Naa an LS3 with every bolt on in the book wont touch the C6Z06...

LS2 vettes are trappin 114 mph..

LS3 vettes are trappin 116 mph...With full exhaust/intake/manifold/roller rockers/tune an LS3 "MAY" trapp 121 mph..

Just aint gonna touch the LS7's 125 mph trapps...As well the 7.0 LS7 will make more power and more torque across the hole rev range simply because it has more CI...Then theres the 100 pound weight differance...

I love the baser C6 but even with full bolt ons it's gonna get walked...

Youre probably right but I'm looking forward to seeing a full bolt-on LS3 vs C6Z race vid

Headers, intake and tune are putting down 419 rwp. With an LG Motorsports cam added are putting down 506/454 rwhp.

That there is a C6 Z06 Killer!!!!

My dad just ordered headers and intake from LG. His car comes in in mid Sept. Can't wait to blow him away!!! He wanted the cam too, but he's an A6 and they don't have an aftermarket convertor yet.

NOT EVEN CLOSE BRO !!!! With a medium sized cam it would be real close, with the g7x4 cam the ls3 would win IMHO. The LGMotorsports R&D LS3 with K&N, Pro Longtubes, g7x4 cam, and a tune made 507 rwhp 456 rwtq. That should be enough to put a car length on a stock c6 z, maybe a bit more.

I have raced Fadi and his stock c6 z many times. I could never beat him even with the final installment putting me at 490 rwhp and 445 rwtq. Now I have beaten other c6 z's. Only by a car or 2 and that was because we ran to 170 or so and my car pulls HARD up top.

So Dennis(whplash) when we going to run them ?? Hopefully before one of us breaks down. LOL. Good luck. Loser pays for Pizza Papalis.

I'm ready. You're ready. Just can't get a good set time. We need to video it to give the members some entertainment. There hasn't been too many videos this year. Kinda lame.

Cam only making what the best LS1s make with H/C. And thats with only about 30 more cubes. GM really got its crap together regarding heads in the last 10 years. Thats awesome.

I think the LS3 was a little under rated too no? I thought I saw a dyno of a stock LS3 at damn near 400rwhp, like 380-90?

ya, that sounds about right. 50-60 less HP with full bolt ons and an extra 100 lbs.

Still damn good numbers. My bolt-on LS2 put down 380/380 and I didnt pull hard at all. It might even come down to the fact that I have the Z51 package and the LS3 car didnt.
