The stock IRS is no good for the track. I know that someone has gone 6.0 @ 300 MPH somewhere (exageration) but the 80/20 rule applies here as well. They are also very nose heavy in stock form (besides being heavy overall) which hurts traction. Seems like lots of guys are using the aluminum blocks now and dropping 90 lbs of the nose. Switch to a tubular k-member and a arms and I think that is another 90 or so off the nose. Solid axle swap is good for another 100 lbs. Some drag coilovers up front and throw thebattery and the trunk and problem solved. The problem is that MOST just want to keep turning up the power and just roll race it. Hence the high MPH to go with the high ET.

I hope to get a rematch tonight with the new gears. I had the 3.73's put in this week. I am curious as to how bad they will hurt me on the hit if at all and also if they will help me hold him off on the long end. I'll get some under the hood video of both cars as well. Mine is pretty dirty under the hood though so dont expect nothing pretty LOL.

I'll see if can get someone to run me on the juice also. I hope to spray at the track tonite if the weather holds out.

well, I don't have a car of your magnitude by any means but I have had 3.73's and 4.10's in my car and I could hardly tell a diff at all from the hit. The 4.10's are just a bit more torquey but its not mind boggling. I think you will like the 3.73's.

It certainly could be if you picked the wrong one.

Good deaths to that Cobra. You have a pretty badass car!

16 degrees of timing FTL 23 psi & pump gas dont usually go hand and hand . I have also daily driven this car for the last 3 years so i couldent go too crazy now i have a daily so race gas only tune is comming & possibly spray to go with it . I can now after 3 years of driving it every day make it the way it needs to be to run a number at the track

Wow...23psi and 16* of timing on pump gas is trouble.

That's where I'm at basically...19psi, 18* of timing, and pump gas = 620rwhp.
I think I have mine dialed in a bit more at the track though.
I have a daily driver so the Cobra gets nitrous.
I'm strapping mine on the rollers Monday for a good nitrous tune.

Best of luck to you sir.

Like any other car where the OWNER neglects the chasis and only adds power. Its very common these days especially on Cobras where the blower makes easy power. I heard one was at 11.39 @134 at Moroso last weekend. 11 sec traction 9 sec traps. Lot of guys with 500-600 rwhp dont even have sfc's! Stupid really.

I love this. When a Mustang is faster it's got to be because of a "power adder". I'd say a 25% displacement bump is a pretty good power-adder, too, LS1/2 boys...

BTW, OP I really like your ride. I've always had a soft spot for F-bodies and yours looks like a hoot - I don't know that I'd want to meet you on a dark highway...

Right...that's what I meant. I was saying good death against
that Cobra. My wording was a bit confusing I think.

Guys, this guy knows what time it is. He is not a kid/guy with money that takes his car somewhere and says "make it fast". He is the guy that people call when their **** is NOT running right so that he can fix it.
