From my experience I look at it like this:
A clean stock LT1 has the edge on a clean stock 2V...
An A4 LT1 will romp an Auto 2V.
Manuals are closer.
A 94-98 GT is no trouble for either car.

We just had a dyno day where my friend with a 98Z28 put down 340rwhp and 354tq just intake and full exhaust (M6). His work friend has a 04ish Mach 1 with a procharger and put down 405rwhp through an auto. They went from a 50/60 roll with the ls1 giving the auto the time to downshift and still walked the Mach
