Default 2V mustangs HA!

So this weekend I brought my car up to college having just finished up my exhaust (for the time being), I came across another student walking to his exceptionally clean 1996 Mustang 5spd. I liked the car (lookswise) until I noticed a sticker featuring the chevy emblem atop of a quote reading "the breakfest of Champions" I couldn't resist. I walked over to him and inquired about his car. HE explained how it was "stupid fast" and how he romps ls1's all the time. So I asked him If he wanted to take me on, (my cars in sig) he immediately asked what I had for mods, I listed off a few. Then he informed me I'd be wasting my time, because his car was again "stupid fast" via a Cold air intake, lowering springs and flowmaster cat back. He based his conclusion on the fact that I was running headers into my stock catback. Can't be fast i guess regardless of my other mods, including my 847 cam etc.

So I talked him into a race. We went on route 190 towards worcester, from a 50 mile an hour roll, he beeped twice (huh? twice) and then took of with outstanding honda civic like acceleration. I hit it, and immediately placed a minimum of 8 cars on him. Then I slowed down to let him catch up. He signaled he wanted more so this time I beeped 3 times!!! And took off, blowing his doors off again, after 10 or so cars I slowed down and took the next ramp, he followed. When we parked at a local wendy's he got out of his car and was rip ****. Crying over his shifter sticking, and slipping of the clutch pedal.

I was in sandals working my clutch I didn't have a problem. In all honesty I probably could have missed 2 shifts and still handed this kid his ***. When he calmed down I explained to him that my car is running mid 12's and I doubted If he had the goods to breach 13's. He was probably running closer to 15's. I told him until he has something crazy to boast about he mine as well remove the "Chevy, the breakfest of champions" decal. I told him after that I doubt if i even hit WOT

He just looked back at me eyes filled with tears (nearly). I don't recall him saying anything else boastful for the reminder of the night.

Nice looking car, just didn't deserve the decal. I've seen some of these cars be quick not fast, but I really don't think this kid knew how to drive, or how to mod, or even what the hell a cam is

99-04 gt is comparable to a lt1. so your car is quick not fast ? anything can be made fast with money.

I guess you need to come to my area and teach these guys how to drive. I've never lost to a bolt-on GT around here. Although most are very early 20 y/o probably without much seat time

Good job teaching him a lesson, you should have made him pay for the class though lol. I don't get people that hype their **** or make outrageous claims, whenever anyone asks me if my car is fast I just tell them it's alright, or says my car looks badass, I just say thanks, it gets me around. Guess that's cause I wish I had a Ferrari or something.

as you shouldnt because a bolt on gt wont be able to run in the 12's without weight reduction and suspension. but i have raced a few lt1 camaros at the track and have come out on top. in my opinion it comes down to the driver between the two cars. fwiw im only 21 as well

Most stock or close to stock LT1's I've come across couldn't get out of the 14's.

I have the 12 sec timeslip with nitrous. It was horrible track prep for an open night and I only have a couple passes with nitrous because no rollcage for a vert. But you can see the potential with 117mph trap lol

I have intake and full exhaust running 13.4s all day long in my vert. And that's usually bogging it off the line with a 2.0 60'
