The NSX wasn't designed to be a supercar in the sense of the word that we use it for today. It was meant to be competitive with the Ferrari's and Porsches of the day yet still be civilized enough to be a daily driver. It was meant to be a well balanced car, not about power. The winding roads of the Nurburgring is where it really shines, not the drag strip.

He would take off, and about half way down the 8th he would spin like crazy(boost finally made peak power i guess) then he would hook trapping 105-108 all night. His car was down right nasty. But only running 8.0s lol.

Because its insanely hard to get a MR engine car to hook up.

Dude, i didn't say this thing was stock, it was built as ****. Faster than ****, it would be retarded to make this up. But it did have a lot of people saying "HOLY ****" a lot of times at the track. If i could have gotten him on tape i would have.

The NSX was badass and had enough power to compete in the early 90's, the problem with it is they never really stepped up the power to keep up with the competition. Through the years everything has been getting faster but they only gave the NSX a small boost in power. Still looks badass *** hell though.

Bingo.

I doubt anyone on here could drive an NSX around Willow Springs or Lime Rock and not have a smile on their face.

Secondarily, a efficient small displacement engine is very deceptive in its power delivery. With power being made even at 7K RPM, they can give such a car a very stout and aggressive thrid gear and still have useable ratios. Add boost, even supercharged boost, to the equation and things can get hard to figure very quickly. Same reason why Z06s tend to surprise higher peak power cars regardless of displacement. Flow through the system is king at high speeds, no matter what the cylinder count and such is.
