02 SS vs E46 Dinan M3

BMWs are fast for their respective power levels since they have good top end and really well matcxhed gears. Definitely a good kill.
The thing with them is the difficulty in getting more power. Theres a slew of really great handling mods for the Bimmers for pretty reasonable prices. A well done E36 will humble even a pure sports car on a tight course. But to get much gain in power, its either expensive FI or expensive engine swap.
My fav. BMW shop by far is final testing an LS1 swap kit, which is actually why I came here years ago in the 1st place. A BMW with an LSX would be a wonderfull car in about every aspect. Except traction on a launch LOL. But they have 10 inch wide wheels on sale for that

[QUOTE=Sparetire;7947221]I meant top speed sorry i didnt clarify, Vipers are nasty cars but dont have the stability at speed to match their acceleration. I usually post in a hurry so I leave stuff out sometimes. I have loads of respect for Vipers, especially after watching a Heffner car run at the track one day. It was nuts, and in full street trim!!

[QUOTE=capn smokey;7947895] True the standing mile was probably with a body kit (Hennecy sp?) but F-bodys are not designed for 250mph speeds either without some aero mods.
Reading all the reviews of the 510 and now 600hp stock Vipers, they are VERY stable and confidence inspiring on the race track, hence beating the C6 Z-06 at 600hp and at 510hp before the Z06 had different rear shocks.
The Z-06 is simply awesome but I don't think there are design flaws in the Viper.
Back to topic, per another post of mine, M3s and LS1s go head-to-head in SCCA T2.
