Default Sibling Rivalry

I went out last night to hang with some friends. Of course they start talking up a race for me like they always do. I not even intending on racing get that little voice in my head that says, "Do It!!!." So I go look at the guy's car that they convince us would be a good race. By this time I'm ready to go. He's got a stock 99 Trans Am with 3.73 gear and rebuilt top end. I've got a 94 LT1 car with exhaust. Both 6m cars. We head out. The first time we go from a 2nd roll, he gets the jump on me by a fender(cause I was sleepin) so I reel him in and as soon as Im a fender ahead I stop paying attention to him cause the road is starting to slowly curve. I nail 3rd gear and pull like gang busters. I let out about halfway thru 3rd and he pulls back beside me. I thought we were only running once so I act like I'm pulling on the exit ramp. He stays straight so I jump back over. This time I suggest going from a 3rd roll. He agrees. By the way, he has nitto 555's and I have gran turismo simulation tires which is why we didn't go from a dig. Anyhoo, I get the jump this time naturally by a fender and I don't really pull him hard at first prolly cause the gear, but at the top of 3rd and nailing 4th I pull him hard again. I had just filled up the rest of my tank with about 5 gallons of sunoco purple 110. He attributed that to my being so fast. I said sure....although I knew that I was that fast because of the ls1 that had been transplanted into my "lt1 car". My friends told him after I left against my will because I think he was a mutual friend. That was my first street race in a good while and only the 4th time I've run it hard since I got it so I was pretty pleased.

Ah, that explains it...sort of...I still can't see a catback being more of an edge vs. 3.73's...unless he means "full exhaust." The LT1 bodies weren't significantly lighter were they?

personally, i like the look of lt1 ws6s more than any other kind of f-body. the nose is longer than a ******* battleship and it just looks mean as hell. if i had the money i'd run out and drop my ls1 in an lt1 body any day of the week

no doubt, the 93-97 f bodies can be picked up cheap and it's not too hard of a swap. They can be made to look really nice. Mine is just a working project.
