I wouldn't say you gus OWNED the thread. Although, you did help he rest of us Redline guys try to put that guy in his place.

Some of you may recognize my username, as I'm an active member on Redlineforums.com...I'm the guy with the original "double clutching" comment (PLEASE understand I was joking, I don't think half of them did...), and also the one that posted one of the last comments before it got locked, about the LS1.

I can almost gaurantee I was the only one that went to google and typed in "LS1" and "www.redlineforums.com" to see which forum all of you guys were from, but that's neither here nor there.

In any event, I came here to pretty much introduce myself, and attempt to explain that not all Ion Redline owners are "domestic rice" like a guy saying that his stock RL can even attempt to hang w/ ANYTHING w/ an LS1...Sure, a lot of them still are, but SOME of us think logically, and completely understand that our boosted (ugh, FWD) 2.0s can't beat everything out there.

Have I beat cars w/ LS1s in them? Sure, but my car has a good amount of money in mods, and I verrrrrrrry rarely can win from a dig. I admit defeat when it comes to Camaros, Trans Ams, Firebird Formulas, C5 and up vettes, etc...

SO, in the end, I appologize for some (well, really only one or two in this case, all of us did a pretty good job of bashing the kid) of the members on my forums. We're not all THAT retarded.

But on a more serious side note, i'm looking in to a C5 vette within the next year or two...any helpful hints or suggestions on what to look at, and what to stay away from? A buddy of mine is picking up a 99, Z51, fixed roof coupe C5 this week for an AMAZING price, and I fell in love with it. Should I shoot for the vette, or just aim for a TA or Camaro? Ups, downs, suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
-Dan

I love how these domestic rice boys (and rice boys) think that because you have an auto that you are so slow, and that manuals are 10x's quicker. I have a manual, but i dont think im faster than autos, not at all. Bunch of chodes. An auto LS1 in stock form still beats the **** out of alot. Whatever. I love reading about other peoples imaginations about cars. Quite funny. Oh yeah, love how they threw in the mullet comment. Yeah thats so old, too bad we all have taste.

My favorite comment is by the guy who said Verts can only run mid 14s. Just cause his dad has a shitty running one.

One of the faster ones on the board is a 13.2, with GM Stage 1 (basically injectors, smaller belt, smaller pulley, and a 7,000 RPM Redline), downed the pulley even more to a 2.7", Intake, and drag radials.

I've got Stage 2, intake, header, exhaust, and I hit consistant 13.8s when I had worn tires and a dying clutch. I haven't been back since the new tires, but I'm shooting for low 13s, without drag radials, until I call it quits. For the money I've spent, I can't complain. I just like raining on Mustangs all day long

But when I say one of the faster ones, I mean one of the faster active members, I'm sure there are lower. There are Cobalt SS (same car, only a very little bit lighter) running mid 12s w/ some money put in to them. They're not extremely fast cars. Just kinda quick.

dude, you are seriously the dumbest ******* ive ever met. I am seriously pulling the bullshit card. I will stall a stock LS1, change CD's, bang your old lady in the back seat, and still put 747 lengths on your ***.

I have banged chicks that drive saturns....
that was awsome btw...

you will be happy with any of them! If you have the $$ go for the vette, but if you want to go fast, get a ta or camaro and mod the hell out of it! You will find all the info you could ever possibly need, and more on this site!

Good to see that you have a brain, along with the other RL guys who called BS. If I were you, I'd post this question in the Newbie Tech section so you can get better answers. A lot of the guys reading this thread are just laughing about the kill story.
