me vs mustang GT
it was the last body style GT...not the new retro ones (sorry i don't follow mustang generations)
i was driving home from school and i see this punky looking guy in a black gt...i notice theres no tailpipes (dumps). it sounded pretty decent (give credit where credit is due). we were going down devon ave and there wasn't much room to race...
until we managed to manipulate traffic enough to get ahead of the pack on a nice clear straight road. we were going about 20-25 and both floor it at the same time(ish). i spin a little as i kick down gears and because my tires suck. we run it to about oh...95-100? he wasn't gaining on me and it felt as though i was finally getting into my sweet spot but that could just be a psychological lie.
he got me by a car. His rear bumper was right at my front bumper (in the next lane over of course)
it was surprising indeed...i haven't really had a chance to race anything besides trucks and the occasional lt1...
summary: newish gt with dumps and prolly other mods vs me
...i was in my daily driver- 2001 camaro convertible (3.8l)...mods= 4.10s, FRA mods, lid, filter, cutout.
he asked me if it was a z28 or an ss and i told him it was a v6. i asked him what he had and he looked at me for a second and said it was bone stock (whatever). oh well. not too shabby if i may say so myself

99-04 GTs are basically the same speed as an LT1 F-body... so unless the OPs car traps 98-100mph, I'm gonna have to blame it on the GT driver. Doesn't take away from the kill, just clarifying that if you really can beat any stock GT like that, you're gonna do basically the same thing to an LT1.

I think the 4.10s had to have played a role in this one. stock 90-04 GTs are slouches unless they have forced induction...
They do sound good though but what else is new.

They're no LS1, but the distance between a 99-04 GT and a V6 Camaro is bigger than the difference between a 99-04 GT and an LS1 Camaro
