Default 07 Gt kill in rual Nebraska

Ok I live in central Nebraska and dont get a chance to get many kills. Just got my Wait4me tune back last week and finally got a chance to get her on the road. So far so good and no SES lights yet! Now usually my 285 nittos keep my very mild T/A hooked up for the most part. I roll off a stoplight slowly then punch it. It lights the tires up and slides into the other lane. Nice!! Later on Im pulling out of a strip mall onto a back road, I punch it again, lights up the nittos again and chirps 2nd. Ok at this point im feelin pretty good about the mail order tune. I know its colder now and tractions harder to grab in colder weather but the cars feelin stronger and smoother.

My younger brother is back from Pensacola for a couple weeks before he is shipped out to Japan. (Airforce) Anyway before he left for basics we raced his 70 El Camino(400hp est. 3600lbs) vs. my T/A(only catback and cold air. 3600lbs) He jumped out a car or so but by the end of the run we were dead even, but i was pullin on him nasty @ 110. Ok so he has been gone for a few months and his elky is the same as before and Ive got a good hand full of new mods.

Ok now for the race... We were thinking WHAT CAN WE RUN????? Joe says I can swap the keys to moms new 07 Gt mustang!!! YEA THAT WILL DO JUST FINE!! So I drop him off at moms and tell him to meet me over @ my house in 10-15. We go out to an old hiway and line them up. The mustangs bone stock, 5speed, with 3.55gear package, but is 200lbs lighter. Ok 1st run he honks 3times n were off both spinnin like crazy, he lets off for some reason and I'm gone. Ok 2nd run. I honk 3times n were both spinnin again but by the time my car shifts into 2nd he's @ my bumper. But then instantly he's @ my door. Im thinkin ****, WHAT THE HELL. But by the time my car shifts into 3rd he's back where he should be. He says he let off @ the end of 3rd going into 4th cause I was still pullin on him and throwin rocks like crazy. Im thinkin 3 cars by the end of the Qtr...

moral of this story is.............DONT TELL MOM..
hahahah

in bad weather the street tires might have had better traction than his nittos

Haha, nice kill. I always tell my dad that someday my brother and I are gonna each swipe the keys to one of his GTOs (04 and a 68) and go race em. Hopefully this will get him to give me the keys to one so we can go race them with him driving one.

nice runs, with all your mods i would have expected alot worse beating, especially on d/r. n how does he weigh 200lb less, a stock gt coupe is about 3650lbs with no driver

Good question. With your mods and the fact that he is definitely heavier than you, you should have romped on him pretty good.

id say more of it was the weather. and was your car warmed up or still cold when you raced?
ive raced with a half warmed up car one time (couldnt pass up the chance at a skittle) and won by three cars less than i expected, just seemed a little sluggish top end.

Nice runs.. but I have to agree with pewter beacuse I have raced some new Gt's and have been able to kill them easy with the few mods that I have but either way nice...

i only came against one stock 06 GT and he was quicker off the line (old rear end was garbage, gear whine that was deafening...main reason for rear and gear swap) but top end i had him, and he was a 5m.
only raced to 70 or so, had him by three cars with the top down.

We weighed moms car before we ran them it weighed 3460lbs. Last time I checked my car weighed right about 3600, and that was before the 3point subframe connectors and with the stock LS1 plastic intake not the heavier BBK alumimum intake. So im just guessing that its alittle heavier now?? The GT's got the stock tires on it with only about 3000miles on the clock. I think there 235's with 17in bullet style wheels. I think my car runs in the upper 13's in the 1/4mile with really shitty 60ft times. Its not a beast by anymeans.

I got a Ws9 hood on the way from my girlfriend for X-mas. That should take a little weight off of the front and then maybe a stall and some slicks should get those 1/4mile times down abit. Or maybe and little shot of spray??

go with the spray, and if a scale said the stang weighed 3460 its way off, i have a 06 and have weighed it many times, b4 mods and after. theres only about 10 lbs difference in the 06 and 07 and its because of a few small differences in the cooling system. and id say you could run mid 13s because a bone stock GT with a avg. driver should be about a 13.8-14.0

If you ever come up this way let me know we can head up to the track sometime and u can meet all the other guys from up here quite a few and variety of different cars we run around with. Im especially following the rx7 with the ls1 swap up here its pretty sick.
