Default New Boss Mustang Encounter

While coming home last night...I spotted four strangely spaced headlights coming up on me fast. He dogged my tail for a while and when all the traffic cleared...a dark Mustang with Boss taped above the GT emblem managed to pull up next to me just when we slowed to a stop at a light. He started reving and jumping around and I must admit he SOUNDED nice. As luck would rarely have it...it was 10:30 at night with nothing but open non traffic pavement in front of us so I thought he might want to play. Since I never had seen one of these Mustangs before I thought...what the hell...let's see what happens. Good thing I was ready because I was right! As we started a roll across the intersection he jumped...since I was ready I nailed it immediately. My A4 spun slightly through 1st and hit hard in second. That was really the end of the race...when I let off at 105...he was far enough back to clearly see his headlights lower when he gave up about 3 lenghts back. He wouldn't pull up next to me for the next three miles until the next light. I tried to give him the thumbs up but all he did was turn right...light up 1st and disappear down the feeder.

Since I haven't street raced in years I didn't know how my 98 Vette would hold up to the new "hotter" Mustangs. Present score...Vette-1...Boss-0. I bet this guy WAS pissed that this gray haired old guy in a 10 year old Chevy vert took him out...hard! Reminded me of the old days.

Can someone fill me in on the reality of the new Boss Mustang...I really am unfamiliar with these carsl

The only "new" mustang I know of with the "Boss" moniker is the Parnelli Jones edition, and they are all a weird 70's yellow-orange color. But, FWIW, you can buy the decals.

After doing a little research. It seems as though this car might still be a rumor.. But they are saying it should be a 302 cammed engine with 425-435hp.

It might just be a GT with decals.. After all the research I've done, it looks like this isn't out yet.

There is no official "Boss" Mustang as of yet, if it does come out it will be '09 or later.

What do you have done? Your car isn't as heavy as mine and my fastest run with a all bolt on, free mods LS1 and a PTC 3500 stall converter went 12.3 @ 110.2 with a 60ft of 1.68 with MT ET street DR's

Nothing but a dual cone K&N intake, open ducts with a B&B catback...pushing 3.17 gears on Michelin PS/AS ZPs. Pretty tame really.

It was a GT with a decal. The PJ does not say "Boss" anywhere on it. There is no late model Boss mustang. The Shinoda family owns the "Boss" trademark and to my knowledge, no agreement has been made with Ford or Saleen to use the Boss moniker.

Nice kill on the GT.
