What would it take to run an Evo?
he wants to be able to smoke my vette on a roll. would you recommend a cam and tune or just swapping his turbo for an upgraded one?The Evo IX has a TBE and reflash (22psi) ran 12.4@108

Don't waste your money on that SLP crap (400 at the crank= 335-345whp). Source the parts yourself, you'll not only save money for other parts, but you will make more power. Don't get a MAF either, stock is good for 500hp.
BTW what year is your car? A higher stall convertor, DR's, and full exhaust should do the trick nicely. Then LCA's and reloc brackets if you get a lil wheel hop.

The minimum he needs to do In order to keep up and maybe edge you out on a highway roll is upgraded turbo (deadbolt 20g highly recomended), fuel pump, injectors and a professional dyno tune.

First of all he needs to ditch the BOV (rice) they do absolutely nothing at moderate boost levels and actually hurt performance do to allowing metered air out of the system which causes a rich condition AND lag due to that air not being recirced back to the turbo to maintain spool.
Secondly the stock turbo is made for fast spool for Rally, auto-x etc. and quickly runs out of breath past 80mph. Well i ran my friends evo8 with full bolts ons and right around 23-25psi it dynoed 397awhp my mods in sig with dr's we went frim a dig with his 2 step set @ 6250rpms and by 2nd gear i had bout 3-4 cars on him so u should take him with just some dr's lid and lt's....

Well i ran my friends evo8 with full bolts ons and right around 23-25psi it dynoed 397awhp my mods in sig with dr's we went frim a dig with his 2 step set @ 6250rpms and by 2nd gear i had bout 3-4 cars on him so u should take him with just some dr's lid and lt's....
